AN ORDINANCE SETTING FORTH THE REGULATIONS
PERTAINING, TO MOBILE HOMES, TRAVEL TRAILERS
CAMPERS, CAMPER TRAILERS, BOAT TRAILERS,
UTILITY TRAILERS AND RECREATION VEHICLES IN
THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, PROVIDING A
PENALTY FOR NON-COMPLIANCE. WITH ANY PROVISIONS
HEREUNDER AND SUPERSEDING ANY CONTRARY PRO-
VISIONS OF ORDINANCE NO. 653 AND FURTHER
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THEREFOR,
BE. IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. Definition of trailer or mobile home: A
trailer or mobile home shall be defined as a vehicle used as
sleeping or living quarters while in the City of Edgewater,
Florida, whether the same be mounted on wheels or not and
whether the same be propelled either by its own power or by
other driven vehicles to which it may be attached. The City
Council of the City of Edgewater shall be the sole judge as
to whether a structure, purported vehicle or purported trailer
or mobile home is in fact a trailer or mobile home and subject
to the provisions of this Ordinance. In determining the statics
of a particular vehicle, the City Council shall consult the
Laws of the State of Florida in regard to distinquishing various
types of vehicles or trailers that may be covered by this
Ordinance.
SECTION 2. A mobile home cannot be parked or set up,
lived in or stored within the corporate limits of the City of
Edgewater unless said Mobile Home is located in a mobile home
park zoned for Mobile Homes, a mobile home subdivision or in a
trailer campsite provided however that a special permit may be
obtained from the City Council of the City of. Edgewater, Florida
for any of the following purposes:
1. For the purpose of night-watchman
2. While a home or homes are being constructed
3. Construction offices, etc.

This permit shall be valid for a period of three (3) months
from the date of issue and shall be subject to renewal by the
City Council.
SECTION 3. Travel trailers, mobile homes, pick-up
campers, or self -driven recreational vehicles may be parked
or stored only on or in the side or back yard of the property
owner who owns said travel trailer, mobile home, pick-up
camper or self -driven recreation vehicle that does not exceed
35 ft. in length, including the tongue, and 8 ft. in width.
Those travel trailers, mobile homes, pick-up campers or self -
driven recreation vehicles that exceed 32 feet in length
including the tongue of 8 ft. in width, shall be considered
mobile homes and shall comply with the provisions of Section
2 above. A property owner may be excused from strict com-
pliance with this Section if there is not ample space between
his lot line and dwelling to enable him to park any of the
above mentioned items in his side or back yard.
SECTION 4. Boat trailer or utility trailers of any type,
make or model may be parked at the owners home in any residential
area of the City of Edgewater only in or on the back or side
yard of said home provided, however, no boat trailer or utility
trailer shall be parked in a residential area when said boat
trailer or utility trailer exceeds 26 ft. in length or 8ft, in
width. A property owner may be excused from strict compliance
with this Section if there is not ample space between his lot
line and dwelling to enable him to park any of the above
mentioned items fin his side or back yard.
SECTION 5. Travel trailers of visitors may be used for
sleeping purposes only. A special permit must he obtained by
the property owner for the trailer of the visitor from the
City Clerk at the City Hall of Edgewater, on the first business
day after the arrival of the visitors. This permit shall not
exceed a period of 72 hours and shall not be renewable. This
permit shall be issued to residents of the City of Edgewater only.

Said trailers of visitors must be parked off the street.
SECTION 6. No recreational vehicle, travel trailer or
camper can be connected to any utility or sewer service of
any kind within the city limits of the City of Edgewater,
Florida, unless the recreation vehicle, travel trailer or
camper is in an area zoned as a mobile home park, mobile
home subdivision or licensed campsite subject to the pro-
visions in Section 2 above. Nothing herein shall be con-
structed as to prohibit the temporary connection of an elec-
trical line to the camper, recreation vehicle or travel
trailer for the purpose of recharging its electrical system, or
to connecting a water line to said camper, recreation vehicle
or travel trailer for the purpose of recharging its water
reserve system.
SECTION 7. Any person found guilty of violating, any of
the provisions of any of the sections set forth above shall
be subject to the penalties as provided by Section 1-8 of
the Code of Ordinances of the City of Edgewater, Florida.
SECTION 8. That all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances
and all Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith
be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 9. That this nrdinance shall take effect immediatelv
upon its adoption by the City Council and approval by the "+avor.
The above Ordinance was read in full and passed by vote
of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at a
special meeting of said Council held on the 24 day of
September, A.D. 1973.

Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the re-
quirement of reading said Ordinance upon second reading was
waived and the Ordinance was ordered put upon final passage.
Passed by vote of the City Council of the City of
Edgewater, Florida at a special meeting of said Council held
on the 2y4ti day of September, 1973, and approved as
provided by law; the vote of said Council upon roll call
being as follows:
