Chief Katez stated the statement about a personality conflict was a misquote and I object to the City Council accepting this mans resignation. Also, he will have to be paid for one week, this being the time from the date of suspension to the date of his resignation. -' Mayor Armstrong recommended the letter be read into the minutes, with no action, only acknowledgement of the letter. Councilman Bevel stated it should read he has been fired, we are doing an injustice to other Police Departments by accepting a resignation. Mayor Armstrong said his withdrawal of a request for this hearing, in my opinion, is an indication of his guilt.
