AN ORDINANCE CREATING A POSITION OF
SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY
OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, PROMOTING LEROY
CUTSHAW, JR. TO THE POSITION OF SUPERINTENDENT
OF PUBLIC, WORKS, SETTING FORTH HIS SALARY AND
TENURE AS SAID SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC WORKS,
DEFINING HIS RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY
AND DUTIES AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THEREFOR.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That the position of Superintendent of Public
Works be and the same is hereby created.
SECTION 2. That the Superintendent of Public Works shall be
in charge of the Street Department, the Trash and Garbage Departments,
the Water and Sewer Department, and shall be responsible for the
management and operation of said departments and he shall be
answerable only to the City Council. The Superintendent of Public
Works shall be in charge of personnel in said departments above
referred to and shall have the power to recommend to the City Council
prospective employees, and he shall have the power to suspend employees
in said departments, which shall be subject to review by the City
Council, and he shall have the power to recommend the dismissal of
employees in said departments to the City Council.
SECTION 3. That Leroy Cutshaw, Jr. be and he is hereby promoted
and appointed to the position of Superintendent of Public Works for the
City of Edgewater, Florida, he to serve at the will of the City Council.
The said Leroy Cutshaw, Jr. shall receive as compensation as
Superintendent of Public Works the sum of Six Hundred Eighty Two and
53/100 ($682.53) Dollars per month, City Council to review this position
six months after the effective date of this Ordinance.
SECTION 4. That all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in
conflict herewith be and the same are hereby rescinded.

SECTION 5. That this Ordinance shall take effect retroactively
from March L, 1973.
The above Ordinance was read in full and passed by vote of the
City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, at a regular meeting
of the said Council held on the 5th day of March, 1973.
Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the requirement
of reading said Ordinance upon second reading was waived and the
Ordinance was ordered put upon final passage.
Passed by vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 5th day of
March, 1973, and approved as provided by law; the vote of said
Council upon roll call being as follows:
