AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE
724 TO ALLOW AN EMPLOYEE WHO HAS ATTAINED THE
AGE OF 70 YEARS TO REMAIN IN THE EMPLOY OF
THE CITY UPON APPROVAL OF THE CITY COUNCIL;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE THEREFORE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance 724 is hereby amended
to read as follows:
"That any and all employes of the City of Edgewater,
Florida, whether employed full time or part time,
shall be required to retire from said employment
upon attaining the age of 70 years. However, any
employee that has attained the age of 70 years may
further be employed by the City only upon approval
by the City Council."
SECTION 2. That all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances and all
Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith be and
the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption by the City Council and approval by the Mayor at
second reading.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk is hereby directed to advertise this
Ordinance as required by law.
The first reading of the above Ordinance was read in full
and passed by vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida at a regular meeting of said Council held on the
