AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 7-348, OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER,
FLORIDA, IMPOSING CERTAIN ADDITIONAL REQUIRE-
MENTS FOR THE ISSUANCE OF A BUILDING PERMIT
TO AN OWNER -OCCUPIER IN THE CITY OF EDGEWATER,
FLORIDA; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Section 7-348(a) of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Edgewater, Florida, is hereby amended by adding the
following language:
That prior to the issuance of a building permit to
an owner -occupier by the Building Official of the
City of Edgewater, Florida, the owner -occupier shall
execute an affidavit setting forth the following:
1. That the owner, and he alone, shall act as the
builder for all phases of construction.
O2. That the owner will comply with all provisions
p(\ \ of the City Ordinances and Codes pertinent to the
)` building.
3. That in the event various phases of construction
are sub -contracted, he will engage only properly
licensed sub -contractors and will personally super-
vise such work.
4. That in the event the Building Inspector shall
require corrections to be made, the owner will assume
full responsibility to insure they are made, and upon
completion will call for a reinspection before pro-
ceeding with the building.
5. That the owner shall assume full responsibility
for the construction and will not expect supervision
of his work from the City Building Inspector.
6. That prior to final inspection any additional fees,
including inspection fees, must be paid in full. A

written request from this office shall constitute
an official notice to pay additional fees.
7. That the owner shall comply with all City,
State and Federal laws in regard to Social Security,
workman's Compensation, lien laws, etc., where
applicable.
8. That the owner shall comply with all the safety
codes issued by the Florida Industrial Commission.
9. That the owner -occupier is the fee simple owner
of the property for which the building permit will
be issued.
10. That the owner -occupier will occupy the resi-
dence for a period of six months from the date that
the Building Inspector of the City of Edgewater,
Florida, issues a Certificate of Occupancy.
SECTION 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances and
all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be
and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption by the City Council and approval as provided by
law.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk is hereby directed to advertise
this Ordinance as required by law.
The first reading of the above Ordinance is read in full and
passed by vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida,
at a regular meeting of said Council held on the day of
, 1979, and approved as provided by law.
The second reading of said Ordinance to be at a
meeting of the City Council to be held on the day of
1979.
