AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 19-60 AND
19-66(b) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA; REDEFINING
THE TERM "TRASH", AND FURTHER PROVIDING
FOR THE REMOVAL AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE
OF ITEMS NOT CONSIDERED TO BE TRASH;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Section 19-60 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Edgewater, Florida, is hereby amended to redefine the term "trash" as
follows:
Trash: All accumulation of grass, shrubbery or weed
cuttings, pine needles, and other refuse incident to the
care of laws, shrubbery, vines and gardens. The term
"trash" shall not be taken to include trees, tree limbs,
tree stumps, brush, used or broken appliances, furni-
ture, bedding, building materials, lumber, or other
materials of a like nature.
SECTION 2. That Section 19-66(b) of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Edgewater, Florida, is hereby amended to read as follows:
All items not considered to be "trash", i.e., trees, tree
limbs, tree stumps, brush, used or broken appliances,
furniture, bedding, building materials, lumber, or other
materials of a like nature, shall be moved at the expense
of the property owner. The City will, upon request being
made and prior payment at the City Hall by the property
owner, arrange for the pickup of items not considered to
be trash. The charge for the pickup of non -trash items
shall be determined by a representative of the street depart-
ment, and said charge shall be based primarily upon, but
not limited to the following factors: the number of loads

and the time and other expenses incurred by the City
in moving the non -trash items.
SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances and all
resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and the same
are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. That this Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption by the City Council and approval as provided by law.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk is hereby directed to advertise this
Ordinance as required bylaw.
The first reading of the above Ordinance is read in full and passed by
vote of the City Council of the City of,Edgewater, Florida, at a regular
meeting of said Council held on the /� day of �' 1979,
