79-O-8ORDINANCE NO. �d ' AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, REQUIRING THAT ALL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND ADVISORY BOARDS OF THE CITY, NOW EXISTING OR TO BE CREATED IN THE FUTURE, SHALL BE RECORDED BY SAID COUNCIL OR ADVISORY BOARDS BY TAPE RE- CORDER OR OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICE; PROVIDING THAT THE TAPE OR TAPES OF SAID MEETINGS SHALL BE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC UPON REASONABLE REQUEST DURING THE NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS OF THE CITY; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 266 of the Florida Statutes it is required that the minutes of a meeting of a municipal corporation shall be promptly recorded and that such record shall be open to public inspection, and WHEREAS, it is the deisre of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, to require that meetings of the City Council and Advisory Boards of the City of Edgewater, Florida, shall be electronically recorded and that said records be made available to the public. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That all meetings of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, and the meetings of all Advisory Boards, now existing or to be created in the future, shall be recorded by said Council or Advisory Board by tape recorder or. other electronic device, which said device is capable of providing a permanent record of the proceedings at each meeting. SECTION 2. That the tapes of said meetings shall be available to the public upon reasonable request and during the normal business hours at the City Hall of the City of Edgewater, Florida. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances and all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council and approval as provided by law. SECTION 5. The City Clerk is hereby directed to advertise this Ordinance as required by law. The first reading of the above Ordinance is read in full and passed by vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Z Florida, at a regular meeting of said Council held on the day of , 1979, and approved as provided by law.
