Armstrong called the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater to order Wednesday, November 3, 1976, at 4:00 P.M. ROLL CALL: Mayor Dana T. Armstrong Councilwoman Ryta F. Webber Councilman William H. Cairnie Councilman Walter B. Sikes Councilman Calvin R. Dietz City Attorney Judson I. Woods City Clerk Sue Blackwell Police Chief Earl Baugh Present Present Present Present Present Excused Present Present Mayor Armstrong explained that this is a regular meeting by provlslon of the City Charter for the purpose of canvassing the ballot and receiving a report from the Election Board. The City Clerk read her certification of the absentee ballots that she received. Mayor Armstrong entertained a motion to recess this meeting and turn it over to the Election Board to canvass the ballots. Councilwoman Webber made such a motion, being seconded by Councilman Cairnie. Upon roll call vote said motion CARRIED, 5-0. After a short recess, Mayor Armstrong called the meeting back to order. The number of absentee votes were called out. The City Clerk read the Resolution: RES. NO. 682 A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF A REGULAR ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA, ON NOVEMBER 2, 1976 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING A COUNCILMAN IN ZONES 2 AND 4, REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THEREFOR. Mayor Armstrong stated that this Resolution needs another section added to it, declaring the winners of the election. There was another short recess for the Resolution to be retyped. Mayor Armstrong called the meeting back to order. The City Clerk read the Resolution again: Councilwoman Webber made a motion to adopt the Resolution, being seconded by Councilman Cairnie. Upon roll call vote said motion CARRIED, 5-0. .. -w ;>> Q u The City Clerk stated that she is going to write a letter to each of the members of the Election Board and thank them for the work they did. ADJOURNMENT: Councilwoman Webber made a motion to adjourn, being seconded by Councilman Cairnie. Upon roll call vote said motion CARRIED, 5-0.
