WfJ\~ ;-.;;,i'\ ~ia:~'~': ~ ~ ';..lJ,l ~.I h' .,. :.IU""t""ij"'" , , .1\\ " ., . , Jf ~ Mayor Armstrong called the Public Hearing of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida to order, Monday, May 24, 1976 at 7:30 P.M. He explained that the purpose of this Public Hearing is to comply with Federal rules and regulations in relation to Federal Revenue Sharing money. We need to establish a purpose for which the expenditure is to be and to establish a priority list relative to the same. ROLL CALL: Mayor Dana T. Armstrong Councilwoman Ryta F. Webber Councilman William H. Cairnie Councilman Walter B. Sikes Councilman Calvin R. Dietz City Attorney Judson I. Woods City Clerk Sue Blackwell Police Chief Earl Baugh Present Present Present Present Present Absent Present Present Mayor Armstrong stated that this is the final conclusion of the Federal Revenue Sharing unless the Congress adopts an extension plan. It expires December 31,1976. Councilman Sikes stated that we discussed at a previous meeting about putting our Revenue Sharing money into the Water and Sewer program, however because of our purchasing of the land it is not necessary for us to come up with any additional money for this. Councilman Cairnie stated that he would like to go on record that it is about time that the City do some paving. Mayor Armstrong stated that he feels that drainage, surfacing and paving should go hand in hand. Councilman Sikes reminded the Council that we were previously assured that we could get a grant, and the monies went to the larger cities, and he stated that he goes along with this. We should take care of what we already have plus pave those that have been paved and the tax payers have paid before for them to be paved, but we have allowed them to get to t~spoint. He asked if our City crews could do anything with the drainage? Mayor Armstrong stated that he is sure that our City crews could work on this, and that we will get cooperation from Mosquito Control also. Councilman Dietz stated that as long as we have it coming we had better put this money there to get these streets straightened out. After more comments and discussion from the Council, Mayor Armstrong stated to the audience that it is the concensus of the City Council that the $25,314.00 should be allotted to a paving program for the City of Edgewater. \.". o o Several favorable comments were made by members of the audience.
