Mayor Severance stated that we need to discuss the Federal Revenue
Sharing, which is to be in the hands of the Federal Government in
Washington D.C. no later than the 24th of June. This years
appropriation will be $49,041.00. It has been suggested that this
total amount be put into Capital Improvements, which would be used
for water and sewer. In addition to that all existing Federal
Revenues in the current budget with the exception of $10,000 that
is for recreation, would also be moved into Capital Improvements
for water and sewer. The Council discussed this matter.
Mayor Severance stated that we are going to transfer monies from
the Federal Revenue Sharing from the catagories presently existing
in the present Budget to the Capital improvements and also the new
funds ~hat are anticipated this year will also be into one catagory,
Capital Improvements.
The City Clerk stated that Mr. Cunningham the auditor explained to
her that before we can let a contract on the new Water Plant we
have to have the money in the bank. This is one way of getting
part of it there and it would also be security to borrow the balance.
Councilman Bevel duly made a motion to adjourn this Public Hearing,
being seconded by Councilman Clinton. Upon roll call vote said
