RECESSED MEETING HELD
NOVEMBER 7, 1973
The Recessed Meeting of the City Council of the City of
Edgewatert Florida was called to order by Mayor Dana T.
Armstrong on Wednesday November 7, 1973 at 7:30 P.M.

RESOLUTIONS
RESOLUTION NO 489 A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT THERE IS
NO FURTHER BUSINESS TO COME BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL AND THAT
THIS ADMINISTRATION OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, ADJOURN
SINE DIE.
The above Resolution was read in full by City Attorney
Joseph ~/eaver.
Councilwoman Crigger duly made a motion to adopt said
Resolution being seconded by Councilman Clinton. Upon roll
call vote said motion ~ARRIED.
Mayor Dana T. Armstrong gave his departing speech. He thanked
the Council and the people for helping him and said he hoped
that he had made the right decisions. He then turned the
floor over to Councilwoman Marian Crigger.

Councilwoman Crigger (Zone 1) complimented the panel for
being so nice to her and treating her like a lady. She
also wished them lots of success.
Councilman David C. Severance (Zone 3) said that he
enjoyed the last two years with the Council and hoped
to get twice as much done in the next two years.
Mayor Armstrong expressed his appreciation to the Council
for their corroperation and felt that they had accomplished
a lot in the past two years.

OATH OF OFFICE
Mayor George Dimm, Councilman Jacob Lodico (Zone 1) and
Councilman David Severance (Zone 3) were sworn in to
their respective offices, the oath being administered
by the City Clerk Sue Blackwell.
Mayor Armstrong presented future Mayor George Dimm the
gavel and the name plate and wished the new Mayor good
luck. Mr. Armstrong and Mrs. Crigger moved to the
audience.
Mayor Dimm gave a short speech saying he would be a
progressive Mayor and that he would be in City Hall every-
day from 9:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M.
Councilman Lodico gave a speech thanking the public
for the votes and stated that wealth to him ment the people
that called him congradgulating him.
Councilman Clinton stated that he thought that they had
a good Council that would work and get along together.
Councilman Severance said they would work for the
betterment of the City.
Councilman Bevel stated that Mayor Armstrong and himself
disagreed on occasion but they had worked together for
the Community.
Police Chief George Katez wanted to thank Mayor Armstrong
and City Council on the behalf of the p-01ice Dept. for
the fine service they gave them and the fine gentlemen
to replace the outgoing members.

Mayor Dimm asked Mr. Carnie if he would like to make a
little speech. Mr. Carnie said that it was the first
time that a losing candidate came to the winners Oath
of Office, and that it is always a sting to loose but
thought that he was losing to a good person and wished
him luck.
Mayor Dimm then asked Mr. Armstrong if he would like
to say a few worHs. Mr. Armstrong stated that there had
been a lot of pressure but they had made some progress
depite that. That there had been a lot of red-tape on
improvements. He apo1igized to the people for the
labor and the trash problems, and also told Mayor Dimm
should feel free to call him at anytime.
Fire Chief Paul Walls stated that we have good protection,
the Police Department and the Fire Department. He
thanked the out going administration for all their help
and then welcomed the new administration.
Mayor Dimm asked his wife Betty to stand and be recognized.

€buncilman Lodico duly made a motion to instruct the
City Attorney to draw up a Resolution affirming the
appointment and present salaries of present employees,
being seconded by Councilman Clinton. Upon roll call
vote said motion CARRIED.
Councilman Severance duly made a motion that the meeting
be recessed until 7:30 P.M. November 8, 1973 being
seconded by Councilman Clinton. Upon roll call vote said
motion CARRIED.
RECESS OR ADJOURNMENT
Mayor George Dimm recessed this meeting until 7:30 P.M.
Thursday, November 8, 1973.
