THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING SEPTEMBER 24, 1973 The Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of edgewater, Florida was called to order by Acting Mayor David C. Severance on Monday September 24, 1973 at 7:30 P.M. ROLL CALL Mayor Dana T. Armstrong Councilwoman Marian Crigger Councilman Edward Clinton Councilman David C. Severance Councilman John G. Katez PUBLIC HEARING Absent Absent Present Present Present Present Present Present Present The Public Hearing was called to order by Acting Mayor Severance in the absence of Mayor Armstrong and Vice Mayor Crigger. It was noted that both were ill. This meeting was continued from September 17, 1973 so there could be further discussion with the Zoning and Planning Board and also get the recommendations of the consulting engineers. Water Rates: It was decided to leave the minimum gallonage at 3,000 gallons but to raise the charge for this amount of water to $3.00 from $2.50. On all water used over the minimum, each 1,000 gallons would be raised from $0.~5 to $0.55 for residential and from $0.55 to $Q.65 for comercia1 purposes. Sewer Rates: There were no objections to raising the minimum residintial rates form $3.50 to $3.75 per month. NOTE: Commercial rates were not discussed so the Ordinance on this was tabled to a later date. Garbage Rates: There were not any objections to raising the minimum residential rates from $2.00 to $2.25. Water Connection Fees Suggested rates were 3/4 in. meter 1 1/2 in. meter 2 in meter a in. meter 4 in. meter 6 in. meter as follows: $150.00 250.00 575.00 1,300.00 1,750.00 3,400.00 No action was taken on this part of the Public Hearing except that these figures were read and then it was suggested that further study was needed. 1. u u There wer~ a total of 26 citizens at the hearing. This figure included members of the press, council, and city clerk's office. There were no objections to any of the suggested raises. ORDINANCE NO. 849 AN ORDINANCE SETTING FORTH THE REGULATIONS PERTAINING TO MOBILE HOMES, TRAVEL TRAILERS, CAMPERS, CAMPER TRAILERS AND RECREATION VEHICLES IN THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR NON-COMPLIANCE WITH ANY PROVISIONS HEREUNDER AND SUPERSEDING ANY CONTRARY PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE NO. 653 AND FURTHER PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THEREFORE. ORDINANCE NO. 854 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING REVENUE TO BE COLLECTED FOR THE WATERWORKS AND SEWER SYSTEM OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1973AND ENDING SEPTEMBER390, 1974 TO THE VARIOUS ITEMS OF THE WATER WORKS & SEWER SYSTEM BUDGET. ORDINANCE NO. 850 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE AMOUNT OF UTILITY DEPOSIT TO BE PAID TO THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA BEFORE UTILITY SERVICE BEGINS, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THEREFORE. Christy as Civil Defense Coordinator, being seconded by Councilman Clinton. The Council requested the City Attorney to hIve a Resolution on this appointment at the next meeting.
