A motion was made by Glenn Barnhill, second by Nikki Hughart to approve the minutes
of the July 14, 2016 meeting . The MOTION was APPROVED by the following vote:

4. SWEARING IN OF WITNESSES
Sworn in were Division Chief Jeff Lariscy and Code Officer Kevin Pogany.
5. OLD BUSINESS-PUBLIC HEARING
Applicants for the vacancy
Present were Code Board applicants: Jennifer Reynolds, Rose Hoffman and Cathy Taylor. Jennifer
Reynolds gave the Board a brief overview of her credentials and why she would love to service on the
Board. Rose Hoffman also gave the Board an overview of her credentials and how she would like to
serve on the Board.

7. NEW BUSINESS - PUBLIC HEARING
Chairman Ben Wagner read the below listed cases and concluded with it appears after reviewing
these cases that no one was present for any of the cases just read. Pursuant to Section 10-348 and
10-345 subparagraph C 11 of the Code of Ordinances and the statement that appears on the
respective citation issued that failure to appear at the hearing means the alleged violator has waived
any right to contest the violation and that an order can be made for the maximum applicable
penalties that include but are not limited to administrative costs, fines, daily fines and liens. Since
however we have the benefit of the staff recommendations, the Board shall entertain motions and take
whatever actions are deemed appropriate.

8. CODE COMPLIANCE REPORT
Division Chief Jeff Lariscy gave a brief update on the Amvet case. The judge has heard the final
hearing and will be making a decision. Division Chief Lariscy stated that he will report as soon as
he knows the decision of this case. Division Chief Lariscy stated that Code Board Attorney Mark
Hall has requested to get out of his agreement with the City. The stats for the month of July is as
follows: 125 new cases, 243 working cases, 60 notice of violations, 14 citations, 61 courtesy notice
and 125 resolved cases.
Division Chief Lariscy stated he would place something in the newsletter regarding garbage cans
and start enforcement once the grass/weeds season end. He also stated that he may do a brochure to
educate the public.
9. PUBLIC COMMENTS
Bob Andrejkovics was present. He is running for City Council District 4 and agreed that public
awareness by the newsletter is a good way to educate the public. Mr. Andrejkovics attended last
month Code Board as well.
10. ADJOURN
