ARmstrong on Thursday, July 13, 1972 at 6:30 P.M. ROLL CALL Mayor DAna T. Armstrong Councilwoman Marian Crigger Councilman Charles P. Ganta Councilman David C. Severance Councilman David L. Katez Present Present Present Present Present Present Present Absent Present ORDINANCES ORDINANCE NO. 759: AN ORDINANCE GRANTING THE EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, A TEN PERCENT PAY RAISE, SETTING FORTH CERTAIN EXCEPTIONS, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THEREFOR. The above Ordinance was read in full by City Attorney Joseph Weaver. Councilwoman Crigger duly made a motion to approve the said Ordinance, being seconded by Councilman Ganta. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED with Mayor Armstrong voting No. A motion to waive the second reading was duly made by Councilman Severance and seconded by Councilwoman Crigger. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED with Mayor Armstrong voting No. NEW BUSINESS After a brief discussion concerning motor repairs for the Plymouth Police car 302, the Council decided to advertise for bids to make the necessary repairs on the police car 302 since the repairs would be over $500.00. Councilman Wiggins duly made a motion to authorize the City Clerk to advertise for bids for rebuilt motor with bids being returned by 6:30 P.M. on July 26, 1972. Said motion was seconded by Councilman Severance. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED. During a discussion concerning the Judge and court, Chief Katez stated he has good officers but the Judge is trying the Officers. Mayor Armstrong stated that court is a serious matter not a joke. Councilwoman Crigger stated the Charter states the Mayor can be Judge and suggested the Council ask Mayor Armstrong to be judge. Mayor Armstrong stated he would accept the judgeship. Councilman Wiggins duly made a motion to terminate Judge Lloyd Smith, being seconded by Councilwoman Crigger. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED with Councilman Ganta voting No. There being no further business, Councilman Wiggins duly made a motion to adjourn, being seconded by Councilwoman Crigger.
