1. CALL TO ORDER
Bliss Jamison, Vice Chair of the Economic Development Board, called the meeting to order at 8:00
a.m.

4. PUBLIC COMMENTS - None at this time
5. REPORTS
a. Economic Development Coordinator Report
Economic Development Coordinator, Samantha Bergeron provided to the board the 4th Quarter
Development Activity Report for 2019, including Edgewater's planned residential and non-residential
projects. Ms. Jamison noted that tools, such as the Development Activity Report, the Comprehensive
Economic Development Strategic (CEDS) Plan and the PUD, which stipulates architectural
standards and landscape standards, can be used to educate the public regarding requirements the
City has in place that developers must adhere to. The board also discussed the need for staff to
update the public when incorrect information is stated in City Council meetings.
b. Southeast Volusia Chamber of Commerce Report
Todd Perry shared that the Annual Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament is coming up December
13, 2019 at Sugar Mill Country Club.
6. OLD BUSINESS
a. Southeast Volusia Promotion - Video Goals
The Board began to explore ideas and talking points for a video to promote business and quality of
life in Edgewater.

b. Public meeting dates
Ms. Bergeron told the Board that next month she will provide them with updated CEDS goals and
discussed dates for two Saturday public meetings to be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., in order to
garner public input for the next 5 years of CEDS goals. The focus of the first public meeting will be
to share where we have come from and where we are currently. The second meeting will be to
gather ideas and suggestions. An online form will be created so those unable to attend the public
meetings will also have an opportunity to contribute ideas and suggestions. Public meetings will be
promoted on the website, in the weekly newsletters, on social media and at City Council meetings.
7. NEW BUSINESS
City Manager, Glenn Irby, spoke to the Board about impact fees, how they are collected and how
they may be used.
8. BOARD REPORTS
Ms. Jamison noted that at the last City Council meeting there were comments made about not
knowing what businesses are coming to Edgewater. She pointed out that Edgewater's
Comprehensive Economic Development Plan has been in place for 10 years and that the IPUD's list
businesses that Edgewater is targeting and that are permitted within its industrial zones.
Ms. Jamison also shared with the Board that the Park Avenue widening project has been delayed a
couple of months and that the Tenth Street widening project is finally moving forward.
