a. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR REPORT
Economic Development Coordinator, Samantha Bergeron shared information available regarding
Covid-19 stimulus and pointed the Board to VolusiaBusinessResources.com as an excellent resource.
Ms. Bergeron noted that Volusia County did not approve a plan to amend their Comprehensive Plan
to establish a commercial space industrial overlay area. She also confirmed with Dan Klasel that
planned speed meetings with contractors at Kennedy Space Center have been postponed.
The Board discussed challenges with planned unit developments in Edgewater moving forward.
There was a consensus that education is needed, so community and City Council understand how
current projects fit into Edgewater's long term plans, such as the Comprehensive Plan,
Comprehensive Economic Development Plan, the Vision Book, CRA and the Retail Strategies Report.
Edgewater's Comprehensive Plan describes the City's vision for future growth and spells out policies
for future development to ensure orderly growth and the protection of the public health and welfare.
