APPROVAL OF MINUTES Minutes from the June 3, 2020 Economic Development Board Meeting EDB Meeting Minutes 06-03-2020Attachments: A motion was made by Chip Selman, second by Debbie Dolbow & Clarence McCloud, to approve minutes from the June 3, 2020 Economic Development Board Meeting. PUBLIC COMMENTS - None at this time. 5. REPORTS A. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR REPORT Economic Development Coordinator, Samantha Bergeron, reported that as part of the Relaunch program, Volusia County has provided 110 grants to Edgewater businesses and funds are still available. Team Volusia met and discussed the new Amazon facility coming to Deltona. Ms. Bergeron mentioned ongoing work on next year's budget and reported that City insurance premiums, which were expected to increase, were negotiated down to provide a savings instead. SOUTHEAST VOLUSIA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE REPORT Rebecca Crews reported that last week, the Chamber of Commerce distributed several hundred packs of PPE to businesses, that included cleaner, hand sanitizer, face masks and alcohol wipes. She noted that Oak Hill has approved the full SEVMTC budget for the coming year. MasterCraft is expanding Aviara in Merritt Island, adding another boat manufacturer to this area. 6. OLD BUSINESS A. TODD PERRY RESIGNATION Todd Perry LetterAttachments: Ms. Jamison recognized Todd Perry's time, participation and support of the Economic Development Board and accepted his resignation with regret. B. DEBBIE DOLBOW REAPPOINTMENT Debbie Dolbow LetterAttachments: A motion was made by Rebecca Crews, second by Clarence McCloud, to recommend Debbie Dolbow to City Council for reappointment to the Economic Development Board. The MOTION was APPROVED unanimously. C. ORGANIZATIONAL REVIEW i. City Resolution Establishing Economic Development Advisory Board ii. Economic Development Advisory Board Bylaws iii. Board Contact List with Term Dates Attachments: Ms. Jamison reviewed the Resolution that formed the Economic Development Board in 1997 and highlighted some of the duties and responsibilities outlined therein, including: Formulating plans and developing property designation for commercial and industrial use, Recommending a budget to City Council for monies necessary to carry out the purposes of Economic Development, Promoting Edgewater as a prospective site for businesses and industrial developments and Assisting with private interests, developing and expanding existing businesses. D. BLUE DOG DRAFT VIDEO SCRIPT Blue Dog Video Script V1Attachments: The Board reviewed the proposed video and audio (text) for a promotional video for Edgewater. They discussed additional imagery and revised message suggestions to share back with Blue Dog Video. 7. NEW BUSINESS - None at this time. BOARD REPORTS Clarence McCloud reported that Daytona State College students and faculty are happy to be back on campus. There are caps on classroom capacity and safety precautions are in place. 9.
