3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Approval of Minutes from the April 14, 2015 meeting.
a.Regular Meeting - 4-14-15
A motion was made by Mr. Zakaluzny, seconded by Mrs. Sopko, to approve Minutes of
the April 14, 2015 meeting. The MOTION was APPROVED unanimously.

4. OLD BUSINESS-None at this time
5. NEW BUSINESS
a.Parks Report
Mr. Corder provided an update on parks. A design engineer has been hired for the preliminary plans
for the renovation of Whistlestop Park. A public workshop with the City Council and Engineer will
be held on 10/26 at 6:00 p.m. for discussion of the renovation. Also, construction of a temporary
road through the park has begun.
Restroom renovation, parking lot and split rail fence installation has been completed at Rotary Park.
The Grand Opening for the Rails to Trails trailhead at Rotary Park will be held on November 7th.
US1 sidewalks from Cory Drive to the Boulevard are close to being completed.

b.2015 Holiday Light Decorating Contest
Organizing the rules, promotion and prizes for the 2015 Holiday Decorating Contest was discussed.
In addition to Lighting & Inflatable categories, a third category for Businesses was suggested. Mrs.
Mullins recommended starting to promote the contest in early November.
6. OTHER BUSINESS
Mrs. Mullins informed the board that Tom Tipton has been removed and will no longer be serving on
the board, as discussed at the City Council meeting. Three board member applications have been
received and will be discussed at the next Recreation & Cultural Services Board meeting in order to
determine a new board member to recommend to Council. Mrs. Mullins suggested that re-election
for the Chair position needs to be done at one of the next two meetings.
The date for next meeting was set for October 22, 2015.
Mr. Corder added that the annual Haunted Forest at Hawk's Park will be held on October 31st this
year..
