CALL TO ORDER Tiffany Evers, Chair of the Recreation and Cultural Services Board, called the meeting to order at 4:45 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL Present 4 - Tiffany Evers, Laura Konters, Glenn Powers, Jenny Roesch Absent 1 - Bruce Meyers 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES AR-2020-4843 Minutes from the June 18, 2020 Recreation & Cultural Services Board Meeting. RCS Board Meeting Minutes 06-18-2020Attachments: A motion was made by Glenn Powers, second by Jenny Roesch to approve Minutes from the June 18, 2020 Recreation and Cultural Services Board Meeting. The MOTION was APPROVED unanimously. Yes: 4 - Tiffany Evers, Laura Konters, Glenn Powers, Jenny Roesch 4. PUBLIC COMMENTS - None at this time. 5. OLD BUSINESS The board discussed the recent EDGEfest Back to School (Drive Through) Backpack giveaway and park rules signs. 6. NEW BUSINESS Samantha Bergeron, Parks & Recreation Director, updated the board on Events for the rest of 2020. She also talked with them about Whistle Stop Park maintenance and the progress with the new pocket park being developed on Umbrella Tree Drive. Kennedy Park's boat ramp is mostly complete and the project remains on schedule. Ms. Bergeron also noted that the City has partnered with Riverside Conservancy for living shorelines and oyster restoration at Veterans Park. Next year, they will tier and add plants to the banks of the 18th Street canal along Veterans Park. REPORTS Board Chair, Tiffany Evers, reported meeting with new staff at the Chamber, who are interested in partnering with the City for future events. Ms. Bergeron reminded the board that at the next meeting we will discuss the Fall Beautification award as well as ideas for celebrating the anniversary of Edgewater's founding in 2021. 8.
