McCall APPROVAL OF MINUTES Absent Present Present Present Present Present Present Present Present Councilman Severance duly made a motion to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting held on March 20, 1972. BILLS AND ACCOUNTS, cont A motion to pay said bills and accounts was duly made by Council- man Ganta and seconded by Councilman Severance. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED. OFFICERS REPORTS Certification of Posting COMMUNICATIONS Cornelia Kinsey, City Clerk, read letters from the Zoning Board and from tne Planning Board stating that they each concur with the Fire Department plans. A letter from the Zoning Board recommending the Council deny Mr. Montesano's request for variance change from commercial to industrial was read by the City Clerk. Councilman Wiggins duly made a motion to table the request for further study. Said motion being seconded by Councilman Severance. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED, with Councilman Ganta Abstaining. A letter from the Zoning Board was read by the City Clerk. The letter was recommending changes in the Zoning Ordinances. Councilman Severance duly made a motion to table the recommendation from the Zoning Board, being seconded by Councilman Wiggins. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED. The City Clerk read a letter from the Chamber of Commerce, asking that the soliciting Ordinance be rescinded. A motion was duly made by Councilman Severance to table the letter until the next workshop meeting where amendments can be made in the Ordinance. SAid motion was seconded by Councilman Wiggins. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED. Two quit claim deeds, one from Mr. & Mrs. Rand and one from Mrs. Beulah Brown donating property to the City for street right of way, were'recognized by the Council. The City Attorney, Charles Hall, suggested the Council table the deed until it can be checked into. Councilman Ganta duly made a motion to table the quit claim deed, being seconded by Councilman Severance. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED. An application from the TM Communications for occupational license was read by the City Clerk. The City Attorney suggested the application be tabled until a license fee could be established. A motion was duly made by Counci~an Ganta to table the application and seconded by Councilman Severance. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED. An application for occupational license for professional hypnotist was read by the City Clerk. Councilman Ganta duly made a motion to table the application, being seconded by Councilman Severance. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED. -2- 6 J ~ o u COMMUNICATIONS, cont. Councilman Severance explained the reason for tabling the two applications for licenses was to amend Ordinance No. 608 which controls all licenses and to bring the licenses up to date. The City Clerk read a letter from the Vo1usia County Health Department and the Seahorse Trailer Court requesting a street light be installed in the vicinity of the Health Department. Councilman Severance duly made a motion to table the request for further study, being seconded by Councilman Wiggins. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED. OLD BUSINESS Acting Mayor Marian Crigger announced the Council would welcome another bid for painting the outside of the Community Center to be returned by the next workshop meeting. NEW BUSINESS Councilman Severance duly made a motion to have the City Attorney draw up an ordinance increasing the salary of all policemen 5.5% retroactive 11-14-71. Said motion was seconded by Councilman Wiggins. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED. Mr. Paul Walls announced the Fire Department had registered 67 bicycles for the bicycle registration being held on each Saturday in the month of April. Mr. Walls also reminded everyone of the groundbreaking for the new Fire Department which would be held on Sunday, April 9, at 2 P.M. There being no further business, Councilman Wiggins duly moved to adjourn, being seconded by Councilman Severance. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED. TIME OF ADJOURNMENT: 8:23 P.M.
