Said motion was seconded by Councilman Severance. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED. OFFICERS REPORTS Certification of Posting ORDINANCES ORDINANCE NO. 735: AN ORDINANCE DECLARING A BONUS OF TEN DOLLARS TO BE PAID TO EACH PRESENTLY EMPLOYED FULL TIME EMPLOYEE OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA AND TO TWO PART TIME EMPLOYEES; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID BONUS CHECKS, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THEREFOR. Councilman Ganta duly made a motion to adopt the said Ordinance, being seconded by Councilwoman Crigger. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED with Mayor Armstrong voting No. A motion to waive the second reading was duly made by Councilman Severance and seconded by Councilman Wiggins. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED with MAyor Armstrong voting No. ORDINANCE NO. 736: AN ORDINANCE REPEALING AND RESCINDING ORDINANCE NO. 684 AND RE-ENACTING AND READOPTING ORDINANCE NO. 661, IN ITS ENTIRETY, MAKING SAID RE-ENACTION AND READOPTION RETROACTIVE FROM DECEMBER 20, 1971, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THEREFOR. Councilwoman Crigger duly made a motion to adopt the said Ordinance, being seconded by Councilman Severance. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED. A motion to waive the second reading was duly made by Councilman Severance and seconded by Councilwoman Crigger. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED. ORDINANCE NO. 737: AN ORDINANCE HIRING AND EMPLOYING DALE THOMAS KOERBER AS PATROLMAN FOR THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, SETTING FORTH THE CONDITIONS OF HIS EMPLOYMENT, PROVIDING HE SHALL SERVE AT ALL TIMES AT THE WILL OF THE CITY COUNCIL, SETTING FORTH HIS SALARY, SETTING FORTH HIS POWERS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, PROVIDING SAID EMPLOYMENT SHALL BE SUBJECT TO A FAVORABLE PHYSICAL EXAMINATION OF SAID EMPLOYEE, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THERE FOR. A motion of adoption of said Ordinance was duly made by Councilman Ganta and seconded by Councilwoman Crigger. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED. Councilman Ganta duly made a motion to waive the second reading, being seconded by Councilman Severance. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED. An Ordinance rescinding Ordinance No. 696 regarding patrolmen's fourty hour work week died for lack of action. An Ordinance rescinding Ordinance No. 705 which allows the Police Chief to appoint Auxiliary Police died for lack of action. Mayor Armstrong stated the Ordinance for patrolmen's fourty hour work week did not comply with the government price freeze and the Ordinance giving the Police Chief authority to appoint Auxiliary Police violates the City Charter which states only the City Council can appoint auxiliary police. -2- o u o 1 4( u ! * ~ ./l~~ 2 ,d;::U.,"'-'A.f ~~~j t~- /~ /:99;), MISCELLANEOUS Councilman Ganta duly made a motion for Carmen Montesano's Garage to be called for wrecker service by the police until another wrecker service comes into town, since he is the only licensed ~ wrecker service in the city, or until he violates the list of set fees for his service. Said motion was seconded by Councilwoman Crigger. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED. Mayor Armstrong announced the City would start a bicyle registration for the residents of Edgewater. Councilman Severance suggested that Paul Wall check with the Fire Department to see if they would like to take care of registering the bicyles and to report to the Council yea or nay by the next workshop meeting. Mayor Armstrong suggested the matter be table until the next meet- ing to see what department would like to handle the registering of the bicyles. There being no further business, Councilman Wiggins duly made a motion to adjourn, being seconded by Councilman Severance. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED. TIME OF ADJOURNMENT: 8:15 P.M.
