THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER
SPECIAL MEETING HELD
SEPTEMBER 28, 1971
The Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida
was called to order by Mayor William H.Cairnie on Tuesday, September 28,
1971 at 4:30 P.M.
The purpese of this Special meeting was to present a Resolution approving
and naming the Candidates to be placed on the ballot for the Primary election
Octgber 19, 1971 for the office of Mayor and Councilmen for Zones 1 and 3.
Discussion regarding Chief of Police.

RESOLUTION NO. 409
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE CANDIDATES FOR THE OFFICE OF MAYOR AND FOR THE
OFFICE OF COUNCILMAN FROM ZONE 1 TO BE NOMINATED AT A PRIMARY ELECTION TO
BE HELD OCTOBER 19, 1971 AND DECLARING THE CANDIDATE AND NOMINATION OF A COUNCIL-
MAN FROM ZONE 3 TO BE VOTED UPON AT THE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD NOVEMBER 2,
1971, SAID CANDIDATES TO BE VOTED UPON CITY WIDE, AND PROVIDING FOR THE
PREPARATION AND PRINTING OF BALLOTS FOR SAID ELECTION: AND PROVillDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE THEREFOR.
The Resolution stated above was read by City Attorney Charles A. Hall.
Councilman Wiggins, seconded by Councilman Fugate, made a motion to adopt
said Resolution and upon roll call vote motion CARRIED.
After a lengthy discussion regarding the Chief of Police it was decided that
CotUlcilman Fugate as Co-Ordinator of the Police Department request a resigna-
tion from the Chief of Police to become effective at 3:00 P.M. September 30,
1971.
There being no further business, m.tion for adjournment was in order.
