Councilman Lodico duly made a motion to accept the minutes of the
meeting held June 21, 1971. Said motion was seconded by Councilman
Wiggins. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED.

A motion was duly made to pay the said bills and accounts by
Councilman Wiggins and seconded by Councilman Fugate. Upon roll
call vote, said motion CARRIED.

A letter from Tropical Blossom Honey Co. requesting variance on
lots 7 and 8, block 1, McGinnis Subdivision from residential to
commercial was read by the City Clerk.
Councilman Wiggins duly made a motion that the variance be turned
over to the Zoning Board for their recommendations being seconded
by Councilman Fugate. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED.
A letter of resignation from Donald E. Gillespie of the Planning
Board was read by the City Clerk.
Councilman Fugate duly made a motion to accept Mr. Gillespie's
resignation with regret, being seconded by Councilman Wiggins.
Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED.
Mrs. Ward, City Clerk read the letter from the School Board ex-
pressing their appreciation to Fred Cotnoir, School Crossing Guard,
for the excellent job he did in the past year.
A copy of the letter will be sent to Fred Cotnoir for his personal
fi 1 e.
A petition from residences on Palmetto and Perdita, requesting that
the canal and wooded areas on West Knapp and the southern part of
Palmetto Street be cleaned.
Councilman Wiggins stated the canal ran north and south which the
Mosquito Control is in charge.
Councilman Lodico suggested a copy of the petition be sent to the
Mosquito Control.
ORDINANCES
ORDINANCE NO. 690: AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING BY REFERENCE
SECTIONS 1 TO 7, INCLUSIVE, CHAPTER 69-324, LAWS OF FLORIDA, 1969,
AND FURTHER DISIGNATING THE CHIEF OF POLICE OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER,
FLORIDA, OR THE ACTING CHIEF OF POLICE, AS THE CASE MAY BE, AS THE
II E N FOR C E r~ E NT 0 F F ICE R II ASP R 0 V IDE D FOR INS E C T ION (2) (d), 0 F C HAP T E R
69-324; PROVIDING A METHOD AND PROCEDURE FOR THE SALE AND DISPOSITION
OF ABANDONED AND/OR DERELICT PROPERTY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE THEREFOR.
The above Ordinance was read by City Attorney, Charles A. Hall.

Councilman Fugate duly made a motion to adopt the said Ordinance
being seconded by Councilman Wiggins. Upon roll call vote, said
motion CARRIED.
A motion that the second reading of the Ordinance be waived was
made by Councilman Fugate and seconded by Councilman Wiggins. Upon
roll call vote, said motion CARRIED.
RESOLUTIONS
RESOLUTION NO. 399: A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE RESIG-
NATION OF NORA JANE GILLESPIE AS PROSECUTING AGENT FOR THE NEW
SMYRNA BEACH-EDGEWATER HUMANE SOCIETY WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS
OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, AND SETTING FORTH AN EFFECTIVE
DATE THEREFOR.
Councilman Fugate duly made a motion to accept the Resolution. Said
motion was seconded by Councilman Lodico. Upon roll call vote, said
motion CARRIED.
A letter will be sent to Mr. & Mrs. Gillespie thanking them for
their services to the City.
There being no further business, Councilman Fugate made a motion
to adjourn being seconded by Councilman Wiggins. Upon roll call
vote, said motion CARREED.
