Mrs. Crigger addressed the Council and stated most of the people
in Edgewater are elderly who are mentally and physically able to
work and they need the money. I think the Ordinance is unfair.
Mr Gross asked what was the reason for the Ordinance?
Councilman Fugate stated it was for the City's benefit. If a man
lives to be 65, he should have enough money to live on.
Mayor Cairnie stated the Ordinance was for part time work also and
in my opinion I think it is very bad.

The City Clerk, Elsie Ward stated the Council had not received a
letter from the Zoning or Planning Boards regarding Mr. Magnuson1s
request to rezone Indian River Blvd.
MISCELLANEOUS
Mr. Hanson stated the main canal in Florida Shores drains, keeping
the water low. This prevents proper irrigation making it hard to
grow anything. He asked of the Council would look into the proble
and build a dam so Florida Shores could have irrigation.
Councilman Ganta asked that everone be their own plumber by listen-
ing for leaks in their faucets and taps to save water since there
is a shortage of water over the State.
There being no further business, Councilman Fugate duly made a motion
to adjourn, being seconded by Councilman Wiggins. Upon roll call
vote, said motion CARRIED.
