The Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida held I1aY 11, 1963 was called to order by Mayor A. Hussey
at 6:30 P.M.

The Special Meeting was called to decide on the follo1dng:
1. Fire House
2. Hiring a Mechanic
OLD BUSINESS
Councilman Palmateer questioned as to the aw~unt of money left in the Fire
Department Building Extension A.ccount.
The amount is $3,354.05.
Councilman Seng said that a fire house is a necessity right now. Our city
is not covered by telephone. It is dangerous. He said that there must
be some retired man in Edgewater that would be glad for a job in the fire
house all night.
Councilman Siller questioned about an estiw4te on the cost. He said he
believed Councilman Palmateer and May-or Hussey had checked on. the estimates.
Councilman Palmateer said they had checked but got no definite amount.
Motion duly made by Councilman Palw4teer we advertise for bids on a one
story fire house vnth jail and advertise for bids on a one story fire house
without jail and have specifications dra1~ up by the architect, seconded
by Councilman Seng and by vote CARRIED. Roll call vote being as follows:-

Mr. Garlick said that he .can be reached at all times and if he is not
home his 1dfe knows where he is.
NEW BUSINESS
Concerning the hiring of Glenn Corlett as a mechanic for the City, the
Council decided to wait until they had a chance to talk with Vir. Corlett
and talk over the salary and other things.
