'l" ,. # RECESSED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FWRIDA HELD AUGUST 3RD, 1965 The Recessed Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida was called to order by Mayor Dana T. Armstrong at 7:30 P.M. in the Mayor's Office. ROLL CALL Mayor Dana T. Armstrong Councilman Carl A. Siller Councilman Earl L. Tingle Councilman W. H. Cairnie Council.rna-?J. B. R. Jones Present Present Present Present Absent Absent Present The City Clerk read certification of funds dated August 3rd, 1965 Mayor Armstrong read the amount of the two lowest bids submitted for the purchase of a 20 Cubic Yard Garbage Packer Body. They were as follows: Truck Equipment, Inc. Lakeland, Fla. / $3,716.00 Magnolia Motor Co. New Snwrna Beach, Fla. $4,151.25 After discussion, motion duly made by Councilman Cairnie we accept the bid of Truck Equipment, I~c. of Lakeland, Florida ~n the amount of $3,716.00 and reject all other bids, seconded by Councilman iller and by vote CARRIED. The roll call vote of those present was unanimous. Mr. DonnellY' of Magnolia Motors thanked thet 'Council for their consideration. ORDINANCES ORDINANCE NUMBER 445 ACCEPTING BID OF TRUCK EQUIPMENT, INC. OF LAKEIAND, FWRIDA AND REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS The above ordinance was read in full by City Clerk Helen W. Jones andl notion duly made by Councilman Siller this ordinance be adopted, seconded by Councilman Tingle and passed by vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, at the Recesse'd Meeting of said Council held August 3rd, 1965. The roll call vote of those present was unanimous. Upon motion duly made by Councilman Cairnie, seconded by Councilman Tingle the requirement of reading Ordinance upon second reading was waived and the ordinance was ordered put into effect immediately at the R~gessed Meeting of the City Council held August 3rd, 1965, and approved as provided by law. The roll call vote of those present was unanimous. Councilman Siller stated he understood some Edgewater Citizens think the councilmen are receiving additional money for special meetings and hetthought it should be made known the councilmen receive $300 per year and no more. Ma.Yor Armstrong read a letter from Volusia County Health Sanitarian, Frank L. Dandrove,requesting a letter from the City stating if at anytime it becomes necessary to by-pass the sewer treatment plant the city would immediately notify the Health Department Office. Motion duly made by Councilman Siller a letter be submitted to the Volusia County Health Department advising them they would be notified immediately if we have to by-pass the sewer treatment plant, seconded by Councilman Cairnie and by vote CARRIED. The roll call vote of those present was unanimous. The Council discussed the request of Jo Anne Sikes, custodian, in regards to cleaning the library. A letter was read from Jo Anne Sikes dated July 30th, 1965 requesting, due to the recommendation of her doctor, she be granted permission to give up cleaning the Library. ORDINANCE NUMBER 446 CHANGlNG '!HE COMPENSATION OF JO ANNE SIKES, CUSTODIAN FOR '!HE CITY OF EDGEWA'lER, FLORIDA. The above ordinance was read in full by City Clerk Helen \i. Jones and motion duly made by Councilman Tingle this ordinance be adopted, seconded by Councilman Cairnie and passed by vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, at the Recessed Meeting of saidCouncil held August 3rd, 1965. The roll call vote of those present was unanimous.
