The roll call vote was unanilrous. OFFICERS REPORTS Certification of Posting dated March 16th, 1965, was read. The Building Official's Report for the month of March, 1965, was read. Mayor Armstrong commended the City Clerk and Building Official for their fine reports. He also thanked Mr. LaBonde for all the attention he is giving the Sewer Connections within the City of Edgewater. COMHU NI CATIONS A letter was read from Briley, Wild & Associates, dated April 1st, 1965. The letter was in compliance with disucssion with Mayor and City Officials on March 31st, 1965. It read as follows: ''We will perform all services listed in Stage 3, Phase II, of that Contract between the City of Edgewater and Briley, Wild & Associates dated September 14, 1962, except the furnishing of a field engineer, and perform all services listed in the ammendment to the above Contract, dated February 17, 1964. The Engineers shall be compensated for the services performed under these items in accordance with the provisions of Article 3~ of the Contract, except that the total charge".f6r., .'Resident.' Superiisic)nI')shap-, ,not 'exceed-:;6ne percent of the total construction cost of the forthcoming water project. It is expressly understood that the services of any inspector shall be ~ted sole)y to the work in connection with the Water Project. Mayor Armstrong said that Attorney Mathas as well as Tom Strang and Tom Groover were present at the meeting to ammend the present contract. He said the Engineers graciously reduced the engineering cost. He said our relationship .;with the Engineers has been most satisfactory. Motion duly made by Councilman Tingle we accept the: letter from Briley, Wild & Associates and direct the City Clerk and the Mayor to execute the amendment, seconded by Councilman Siller and by vote CARRIED. ORDINANCES None RESOWTIONS None PROCIAHATIONS Mayor Armstrong submitted'a Proclamation declaring the ~~nth of April as Clean-Up Month in the City of Edgewater. OLD BUSINESS Mayor Armstrong announced that at a Special Meeting on Friday Night the Council opened bids on an electric generator. A letter was read from Briley, Wild & Associates dated April 5th, 1965 stating that the low bid of M. D. Hoody and Sons, Inc., on the air-cooled unit varies from the specifications with respect (1) the voltage regulation wi thin 5% plus or minus rather than the 3% plus or minus specified and (2) there are no fenders on the trailer. These deficiencies, however, are not considered serious enough to warrant the rejection of this bid and it is therefore recommended that the bid of M. D. Moody and Sons, Inc., in the amount of $2,080.00 for the air-cooled unit be tentativelY accepted subject to the concurrence of the HHFA. Motion duly made by Councilnan Siller \-1e accept the recommendation of our Engineers, Briley, Wild & Associates, and tentatively accept the low bid of $2,080.00 from M. D. Moody and Sons, Inc. and forward to the Government for their approval, seconded by Councilman Cairnie and by vote CARRIED. The roll call vote was unanimous. Motion dulY made by Councilman Cairnie we authorize the Engineers to start drawing up plans and ~pecifications to start working on the Water Extension Program, seconded by Councilman Siller and by vote CARRIED. The roll call vote was unanimous. NEW BUSINESS Councilman Siller said that if the City gives $300 to the Fire Department for fireworks they will be able to get a good buy on the fireworks. The-- Fire Department is also going to add $100 to the $300. Motion dulY made by Councilman Siller the City Clerk be authorized to give $300 to the Fire Department for the fireworks display, seconded by CounciJ1na.n Tingle and by vote CARRIED. The roll call vote was unaniIOOus. MISCELIANEOUS Councilman Tingle ques tioned as to the large pile of dirt l-iax Ma.~sey has on his property. Mr. Tingle said mny people had asked him about this. Mr. ~Bonde said his sewer line goes right down by his driveway and he has been sick and hasn't had a time to put in his sewer line. The dirt will be removed as soon as he does put in the se\-1er line. Mr. Aladar Butter, Mango Tree Drive, complained about the speeders in Florida Shores, especially on his street. ~~yor Armstrong said that as soon as you send a police car'down there you can't find the speeders. They can see the Police Car for a long distance He said if the people will get the license number they will be brought to court. U Q 0 V 1 I I r Mayor Armstrong said he talked with Mr. Galbreath from the County and he said, weather permitting, they will start paving in Edgewater by April 15th. Mayor Armstrong said the State Legislature goes into sesston tomorrow and as soon as they act on our legislation we will call a special election for the people of Edgewater.
