RECESSED MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER,
VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA- HELD
AUGUST 5TH, 1966
The Recessed Meeting of the City Council of the City of
Edgewater, Florida was called to order by Acting Mayor
Jacob Lodico at 7:00 P.M. on August 5th, 1966 in the
Mayor's Office.

OFFICERS REPORTS
Certification of Petttions dated August 5th, 1966, was read.
COMMUNICATIONS
A letter was read from Lilian Straub, 110 Riverside Terrace,
dated August 1st, 1966 resigning from the position of dispatcher
in the Police Department. The resignation is effective
August 15th, 1966 or just as quickly as you can hire some
one to take her' tour of duty.
Motion duly made by Councilman Bebbington we accept the resignation
of Lilian Straub as Police Dispatcher, seconded by Councilman Cairnie
and by vote CARRIED. The roll call vote was unanimous.
ORDINANCES
ORDINANCE NUMBER 499 TERMINATING SERVICES OF A PATROLMAN FOR THE
CITY OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA.
The above Ordinance\'as read in full by City Attorney Hall
and motion duly made by Councilman Walls this ordinance be
adopted, seconded by Councilman Bebbington and passed by vote
of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida,
at the recessed meeting of said Council held August 5th, 1966.

Bebbington the requirement of reading Ordinance upon second

Acting Mayor Lodico said raises were also given to all the
hourly employees of the City.

LAND WITHIN THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA FROM THE OWNERS,
KENNETH G. MAY AND PHYLLIS E. MAY, HIS WIFE.

OFFICE OF MAYOR OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY,
FLORIDA, AND PROVIDING FOR A PRIMARY CITY ELECTION TO BE
HELD AUGUST 30, 1966 AND PROVIDING FOR A SPECIAL CITY ELECTION
TO BE HELD SEPTEMBER 13, 1966, AND PROVIDING FOR THE
PREPARATION AND PRINTING OF BALLOTS FOR SAID ELECTIONS.
The above Resolution was read in full by City Attorney Hall
and motion duly made by Councilman Bebbington this resolution
be adopted, seconded by Councilman Cairnie and passed by
vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida

Councilman Walls asked the City Attorney if there would have to
be another election if one of the candidates received over 51%
of the Primary Vote.
Attorney Hall said there would have to be another election.

Acting Mayor Lodico said he talked to Boyd DeLoach who
is on the School Board and gave a short report on the
progress at the school.
There being no further business, motion duly made by
Councilman Walls we now adjourn, seconded by Councilman
Bebbington and there were no objections.
