COHHUFICATIors
A letter was read from Robert P.Poland, dated January 10th, 1966 stating
that Hayor Armstrong had promised to fill and raise the end of Virginia Street
with fill from the sewer installation. He said most of the fill WGS misplaced
and the Mayor promised to do something about it as soon as equipment was available.
He said as of this date nothing has been done. He said he felt after a year
and a half, there is something personal in the promises being unfulfilled and
ho~ that a solution can be found in the near future.
Mayor Armstrong said he has never made a promise to ~~. Poland he has n~fulfilled.
The street has been filled to accomodate the people on the street. There is nothing
personal in the matter. If he wants to fill the land eaat ahim he can-do so, and

OLD BUSI PESS
Councilman Cairnie: Some time ago a group of teenagers approached the City Council
about opening the Youth Center one night a week. The Board of Governors will be
glad to donate one night for the Youth Dances with certain reservations. First,
parents of the teenagers meet with the Board of Governors to layout a program
as to how the dances will be chaperoned.
Mayor Armstrong said this sounds reasonable and if the Board received cooperation
from the parents therp. seems to be a good chance the Youth Dances will start again.

HISCELLPJ1EOUS
Councilman Cairnie reported that the City has' hired Mr. Cooper to clean up
the Parks and Piers. He started work last week. The grass has been cut, trees
trimmed, etc. If anyone has looked at the parks the last couple of days they
can see a marked improvement already.
~~. Cliff Mosher suggested the City call Indian River Gas Co. about the heaters
in the Community Center. There is no charge to check the heaters.
The Mayor said he would look into this in the morning.
The Council discussed the possibility of purchasing some new tables for the Community
Center and possibly giving the old tables to different churches, etc. who might
have need for the tables.
There being no further business, motion duly made by Councilman Cairnie we now
adjourn, seconded by Councilman Ifalls and there were no objections.
