08-11-1967 - Special i " ~---- U o C) o SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA HELD AUGUST 11th, 1967 The Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida held August 11th, 1967 was called to order by Mayor William H. Cairnie at 9:30 A.M. in the Mayor's office. The meeting was called by Mayor Cairnie for the following purposes: Pass Ordinance for the cleaning of lots of grass and weeds. Adopt Resolution appointing Adolph LaBonde as Sanitation Officer. Make a motion to set charges for the cleaning of lots. ROLL CALL Mayor William H. Spencer Present Present Present Absent Present Absent Present Present ORDINANCE NO. 567 PROVIDING FOR THE CLEARING OF TRASH AND OTHER DEBRIS AND THE CUTTING OF GRASS OF EXCESSIVE HEIGHT; DECLARING THE ACCUMULATION OF TRASH AND OTHER DEBRIS AND GRASS TO AN EXCESSIVE HEIGHT TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE; DECLARING THE DUTIES OF OWNERS OF LAND TO MAINTAIN THEIR LAND IN A SAFE AND SANITARY CONDITION; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY TO DO SO; PROVIDING FOR THE ABATEMENT OF SAID NUISANCE BY THE CITY; PROVIDING A LIEN IN FAVOR OF THE CITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFF-ECTIVE DATE. The above Ordinance was read in full by City Clerk Elsie L. Ward and motion duly made by Councilman Bebbington this ordinance be adopted, seconded by Councilman Lodico and passed by vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at the special meeting of said Council held August 11th, 1967. The roll call vote was unanimous. Upon motion duly made by Councilman Bebbington, seconded by Councilman Lodico the requirement of reading ordinance upon second reading was waived and the ordinance was ordered put into effect immediately at the special meeting of the City Council held August 11th, 1967. Councilman Mosher abstained on roll call vote, while remaining Councilman voted yea. RESOLUTION NO. 190 APPOINTING CITY BUILDING OFFICIAL, ADOLPH A. LABONDE, AS SANITATION OFFICER FOR THE CITY OF EDGEWATER. The above Resolution was read in full by City Clerk Elsie L. Ward and motion duly made by Councilman Bebbington this Resolution be adopted, seconded by Councilman Lodico and passed by vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at the special meeting of said Council1held August 11th, 1967. The roll call vote was unanimous. ., --"~u o (,J Motion was duly made by Councilman Lodico that a mlnlmum charge of Fifteen Dollars ($15.00) be set for the clearing of each lot up to one hour and for each additional thirty (30) minutes or fraction thereof, a minimum of Seven Dollars and Fifty Cents ($7.50); seconded by Councilman Bebbington and passed by the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at a special meeting held August 11th, 1967.
