The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida was called to order by Vice Mayor Lodico at 7:30 P.M. on
May 15th, 1967.

The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the City Council held May
1, 1967, and the Minutes of the Special Meeting of the City
Council held May 4th, 1967, were presented to each councilman
for his approval. Motion duly made by Councilman Walls that
these minutes stand approved as submitted, seconded by Councilman
Bebbington and by vote CARRIED. The roll call vote was unanimous.

Motion duly made by Councilman Bebbington these bills be paid
and be maee a part of the minutes, seconded by Councilman Walls
and by vote CARRIED. The roll call vote was unanimous.
OFFICERS REPORTS
Certification of Posting dated April 18th, 1967 was read.
Certification of Posting dated April 22nd, 1967 was read.
Police Report for April, 1967 was read.
Library Report for April, 1967 was read.
Clerk's Cash Statement for April, 1967 was read.
Budget Report for April, 1967 was read.
COMMUNICATIONS
A letter from Mr. Fred Garlick, Commander of Post No. 285 of
the American Legion, was read requesting the City of Edgewater
to purchase a wreath to decorate the Veteran's Monument in
honor of Memorial Day; the service to be held on Sunday, May
28th, 1967 by the local veteran's organizations.
Vice Mayor Lodico explained that the City of Edgewater had been
doing this every year and should be continued.
Motion duly made by Councilman Bebbington to donate $10.00
toward the purchase of the wreath, seconded by Councilman Walls,
and by vote CARRIED. The roll call vote was unanimous.
A letter was read from Mr. Parker E. Hodgman, District Director
of the Muscular Dystrophy Associations of America, Inc., expressing
their appreciation to Chief Witmeyer and the Police Department fur
their assistance in collecting monies. Mr. Hodgman enclosed a
Citation of Merit to the Police Department for a symbol of gratitude.
Vice Mayor Lodico stated that we were highly honored to receive
this Citation of Merit and presented it to Chief Witmeyer with
congratulations and a round of applause.
Vice Mayor Lodico then read a Proclamation proclaiming the week
of May 19-26, 1967 as Poppy Week.
A Certification of Bids Received was read by the City Clerk.
Bids for a new grader were then opened and read by the City
Clerk as follows:

Councilman Bebbington made a motion to accept the alternate bid
of $16,900.00 from the State Tractor & Equipment Co., pending a
check of specification, seconded by Councilman Walls; and by vote
CARRIED. The roll call vote was unanimous.

No bids were received on the paving.
ORDINANCES
ORDINANCE NO. 546 ACCEPTING THE OFFER OF CAMPBELL A.BROWN
TO SELL LANDS TO THE CITY.
The above Ordinance was read in full by City Attorney Hall
and upon motion duly made by Councilman Bebbington this
Ordinance be adopted, seconded by Councilman Walls; and passed
by vote of the ,'City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida
at the regular meeting of said Council held May 15th, 1967.
The roll call vote was unanimous.
Upon motion duly made by Councilman Walls, seconded by Councilman
Bebbington, the requirement of reading Ordinance upon second
reading was waived and the Ordinance ordered put into effect
immediately at the regular meeting of the City Council held on
May 15th, 1967. The roll call vote was unanimous.
RESOLUTIONS

OLD BUSINESS
None.
NEW BUSINESS
Councilman Walls made a motion that the City clerk be authorized
to place bids on the building of cabinets for the charging area
in the new Library to be returned by 4:00 P.M. on June 5th, 1967,
seconded by Councilman Bebbington; and by vote CARRIED. The roll
call vote was unanimous.
Councilman Bebbington made a motion that the City Clerk be authorized
to readvertise for bids on paving in front of City Hall, around the
Library, rear of City Hall, retaining wall along Library, Library
Parking Lot, and the walk between the Community Center and City Hall,
to be returned by 4:00 P.M. on June 5th, 1967; seconded by Council-
man Walls; and by vote CARRIED. The roll call vote was unanimous.
MISCELLANEOUS
Vice Mayor Lodico stated that City Hall will be closed all day
Memorial Day, May 30th, 1967.
The Vice Mayor made the announcement of a special meeting to be
held at 4:00 P.M; on May 17th, 1967 to ~anvas$ the absentee ballots
and determine the winner of the election. The meeting would be
recessed until 7:30 P.M. when the New Mayor will be sworn in.

There being no further business, Councilman Bebbington made
a motion that we adjourn. Councilman Walls seconded the motion.
