05-17-1967 - Special ; ., , r u u. o u SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA HELD MAY 17th, 1967 The Special meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida held May 17th, 1967 was called to order by Vice Mayor Jacob Lodico at 4:00 P.M. in the Mayor's office. The meeting was called by Vice Mayor Lodico for the following purposes: Pass Ordinance awarding bid for a new Grader Pass Resolution regarding Ambulance Service Accept the Resignation of C. E. Mosher from the Zoning Board and Board of Governors of the Community Center Canvass of Absentee Ballots Declare the winne~ of the election Pass Resolution declaring results of the election Pass Ordinance authorizing signature of new Mayor. Spencer Police Chief Herman M. Witmeyer Present Present Present Present Present Present Absent ORDINANCE NO. 547 ACCEPTING THE BID OF STATE TRACTOR AND EQUIPMENT COMPANY:, INC. FOR A ROAD GRADER AND REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS. The above Ordinance was read in full by City Attorney Hall and motion duly made by Councilman Walls this Ordinance be adopted, seconded by Councilman Bebbington; and passed by vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at the-~pecia1 meeting of said Council held :May; 17th, 1967. The roll call vote was unanimous. Upon motion Bebbington; reading was immediately 17th, 1967. duly made by Councilman Walls, seconded by Councilman the requirement of reading ordinance upon second waived and the ordinance was ordered put into effect at the Special Meeting of the City Council held May The roll call vote was unanimous. A certification of funds available for the purchase of the grader was read by Elsie L. Ward, City Clerk. RESOLUTION NO. 182 EXPRESSING THE PREFERENCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA AS TO THE METHOD OF PROVIDING AMBULANCE SERVICE IN VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA. The above Resolution was read in full by City Attorney Hall and motion duly made by Councilman Bebbington this Resolution be adopted, seconded by Councilman Walls; and passed by vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at the Special meeting of said Council held May 17th, 1967. The roll call vote was unanimous. A letter of Resignation from Clifton E. Mosher was read giving his resignation from the Board of Governors of the Community Center and as a member of the Zoning Board. Councilman Bebbington made a motion to accept, with regret, the resignation of Mr. Mosher. The roll call vote was unanimous. The certification of absentee ballots was read by Elsie L. Ward. Absentee ballots wer~ then opened by the Election Bo a rd with the following results: William H. Cairnie 24 . 453 = 477 Richard H. Seidel 2 + 129 = 131 Clifton E. Mosher 21 + 415 = 436. Total count of absentee ballots was 26. RESOLUTION NO. 183 DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA ON THE 16th DAY OF MAY, A.D., 1967 AND PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES OF ELECTION TO THE CITY OFFICERS CHOSEN AT SAID ELECTION. The above Resolution was read in full by City Attorney Hall and motion duly made by Councilman Walls this Resolution be adopted, seconded by Councilman Bebbington; and passed by vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at the Spec,ial meeting of said Council held May 17th, 1967. The roll call vote was unanimous. ORDINANCE NO. 548 AUTHORIZING ACCESS OF MAYOR TO SAFE~DEPOSIT BOX AND BANK ACCOUNT OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA. The above Ordinance was read"infull by City Attorney Hall and motion duly made by Councilman Bebbington this Ordinance be adopted, seconded by Councilman Walls; and passed by vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at the Special meeting of said Council held May 17th, 1967. The roll call vote was unanimous. Upon motion duly made by Councilman Walls, seconded by Councilman Bebbington; the requirement of reading ordinance upon second reading was waived and the ordinance was ordered put into effect immediately at the Special meeting of the City Council held May 17th, 1967. The roll call vote was unanimous. There being no further business at this time, Councilman Walls made a motion to recess until 7:30 P.M. at. the Community Center..
