MISCELLANEOUS Vice Mayor Lodico brought up the subject of a referendum to acquire a Judge for the City instead of the duty being performed by the May 0 r . We pay $ 1 , 1 00. yea r 1 y tot h e r~ a y 0 r top res ide a s J u d g e . It would be just as economical to hire a Judge who is qualified, whereas the Mayor may not be qualified. If he does not do the jOD justly, he can be fired whereas the Mayor can not. Mr. Frank Zuhr reminded the Vice Mayor that the Mayor can be re- called if he ;s unsatisfactory. The Vice Mayor then stated it is a lot easier to fire a Judge then have a recall on the Mayor. Councilman Walls brought up the fact you must have 60% of the voters to sign the recall. We can't get 60% out to vote. Mr. Robert Maxwell asked where we could get a Judge for $1,100. Vice Mayor Lodico explained that he only presides one morning of each week and this price is better than most surrounding towns. There being no further business, Councilman Bebbington made a motion that we adjourn. Councilman Walls seconded the motion. Minutes taken by Patricia Spencer.
