Motion duly made by Councilman Bebbington these minutes stand approved as submitted, seconded by Councilman Cairnie and by vote CARRIED. The roll call vote was unanimous. The roll call vote was unanimous. OFFICER'S REPORTS The Certification of Posting dated December 20th, 1966, was read. The Certification of Bids,dated January 3rd, 1967, was read. (Gasoline and Fuel Oil) The Certification of Bids, dated January 3rd, 1967, was read. (New Library) COMMUNICATIONS None ORDINANCES None RESOLUTIONS None OLD BUSINESS The Audit Report for the year 1965-66 was read. Councilman Cairnie said there was a report in one of the newspapers that we hada Special Audit. He asked that this be clarified by the Auditor. The Auditor said there was no Special Audit. Councilman Walls said the Auditor did help us to determine the cash assets of the City. Mayor Tingle: This money we have has been accumulating over the last few years. We~ve been holding this money from year to year and still increasing the millage. I have always voted for reducing the millage. This money we have should have been used to keep up the City Equipment. Motion duly made by Councilman Walls we accept the Audit Report, seconded by Councilman Bebbington and by vote CARRIED. The roll call vote was unanimous. The Council complimented the auditor for the fine report. NEW BUSINESS Motion duly made by Councilman Cairnie we advertise for b~ds on a new tank for the fire department; Fire Chief will draw up the specifications; Bids to be in by 4:00 P.M. January l6th,1967 at City Hall, seconded by Councilman Walls. Councilman Walls satd the reason for this motion is that the fire truck has big holes in it and the water leaks out. It has been welded and patched together so many times. Now it is necessary to run a garden hose into the tank to keep it full. The roll call vote was unanimous. The roll call vote was unanimous. With regards to the gasoline bids, Councilman Walls asked if the 92 octane would be acceptable for City Trucks. Mr. Hilton said it would not be acceptable for the Police Cars. Motion duly made by Councilman Walls we accept the low bid of 14.9<t per gallon from the Gulf Oil Corp. for gasoline (92 Octane), seconded by Councilman Cairnie and by vote CARRIED. The roll call vote was unanimous. BIDS ON NEW LIBRARY Kennedy Construction Co. B. B. Sweat & Son $28,994.00 34,996.00 Motion duly made by Councilman Walls we tentatively accept the bid of the Kennedy Construction Co. pending review by the Architect and final approval by the City Council, seconded by Councilman Bebbington and by vote CARRIED. The roll call vote was unanimous. MISCELLANEOUS Mr. J. C. Larrabee questioned the sewer and garbage ordinances of the City. He said he has to pay for Sewer and Garbage on a vacant house he owns and does not think it is fair. The Council said they were trying to change the sewer ordinance at the present time. Attorney Hall said Mrl Larrabee's bill is due and payable according to City Ordinances. Mr. Richard Hanson, Fire Chief, said the Fire Department is having trouble with the engine on the Fire Truck. He said he ww1d like it replaced. Motion duly made by Councilman Walls we put new engine in fire truck, seconded by Councilman Cairnie. Councilman Lodico suggested the engin~ be checked by a mechanic before anything is done. Mr. Hanson said it had been checked. The roll call vote was unanimous. Page 3 of 4 pages o Q o o Councilman Bebbington asked the City Manager when we were going to get the new Fire Truck. Mr. Hilton said he had called the company and they were waiting for some equipment. Mr. Hanson suggested some renegotiations be made with Lakeland Truck Co. with regards to the Fire Truck. Council did not go along with this. Councilman Walls said the Council wanted to build up on the equipment later on. There being no further business, motion duly made by Councilman Bebbington we now adjourn, seconded by Councilman Walls and there were no objections. Minutes taken by Marie Robinson.
