REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE" CITY OF EDGEHATER,
FLORIDA HELD ON SEPTEMBER 16, 1968
The Reqular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida was called to order by Mayor William H. Cairrie at 7:30
p.M. on September 16, 1968.

Before proceeding with the agenda Mayor Cairnie called on the
public to hear the reading of the npw Ordinance on the garbage
and trash department. A public hearing was held at the close
of the reading of the Ordinance by Attorney Charles A. Hall.
After an hour's discussion, the Mayor said a further hearing
would be set. No vote was taken on the first reading of the
Ordinance.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the City Council, held on
September 5, 1968 were presented to each Councilman for his ap-
proval. Motion was made by Councilman Dietz we approve these
minutes, seconded by Councilman Dimm and by roll call vote CAR-
RIED.

Motion was duly made by Councilman Dietz these bills be accepted
for payment, seconded by Councilman Dimm and by roll call vote
CARRIED.
OFFICEPS REPORTS
Certification of Posting dated September 6, 1968 was read.
Clerk's Cash Statement for August was read.
Rudget Report for August was read.
RESOLUTIONS
Councilman Ledbetter introduced a motion to approve the site of
the new Post Office. There was no second so Councilman Ledbetter
withdrew his motion.
NEW BUSINESS
An application from Carmen Montensano for a license to operate
an Automobile Salvage Yard at 2033 S. Ridgewood Avenue was pre-
sented to the Council. The ~pplication was denied because of
conflict with an existing Zoning Ordinance. Motion was duly
made by Councilman Dietz we deny this retition, seconded by
Councilman Dimm and by roll call vote CARRIED. Councilman Led-
better voten NAY.
MISCELLANEOUS
Mayor William H. Cairnie announced a Special Hearing for complaints
on the new license fees, said hearing to be held Saturday, Septem-
ber 21, lq68 at 10:00 A.M.
A motion was introduced by Councilman Dietz to advertise for hids
on ~ radio base station, bids to be in October 7, 196R at 4:00 P.M.
seconded by Councilman Dimm and by roll call vote CARRIED. Council-
man Ledbetter abstained on vote.
A motion was introduced by Councilman Dimm that the Council write
a letter, similar to one written by the Edgewater School P.T.A.,
to the proper authorities requesting a Junion-Senior High School
be build in the City of Edgewater, seconded by Councilman Diet7,
and by roll call vote CARRIED.
There being no further business motion to adjourn was duly made by
Councilman Dimm, seconded by Councilman Dietz; and there were no
objections.
