The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida was called to order by Mayor William H. Cairnie at 7:30
P.M. on July 1, 1968.

The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the City Council, held on
June 17, 1968 were presented to each Councilman for his approval.
Motion was made by Councilman Dimm we approve these minutes, sec-
onded by Councilman Dietz and by roll call vote CARRIED.

Motion was duly made by Councilman Dimm these bills be accepted
for payment, seconded by Councilman Dietz and by roll call vote
CARRIED.
OFFICERS REPORTS
Certification of Posting dated June 18, 1968 was read.
COMMUNICATIONS
A letter was read from Mr. and Mrs. J. Budd requesting the City
Council take some action on their petition for a variance. Mr.
Budd, Mr. Wiggins, Attorney Hall and Councilman Dietz took part
in a discussion which resulted in the matter of the variance be
given back to the Zoning Board for a more concrete recommendation.
ORDINANCES
ORDINANCE NO. 602 PROHIBITING SWIMMING OR WADING IN ANY FRESH
WATER NATURAL OR ARTIFICIAL LAKES OR SHELL PITS WITHIN THE COR-
PORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, DECLARING THE
SAME TO BE A VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE, PROVIDING A PENALTY
FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THEREFOR.
The foregoing Ordinance was read in full by City Attorney Hall
and upon motion duly'made by Councilman Dietz this Ordinance
be adopted, seconded by Councilman Ledbetter and by roll call
vote CARRIED. Motion duly made by Councilman Ledbetter we
waive a second reading of foregoing Ordinance, seconded by
Councilman Dietz and by roll call vote CARRIED.
RESOLUTIONS
A Resolution was presented by Attorney Hall accepting the bid
of Fellows Construction Company for paving Monroe Circle.
Motion was duly made by Councilman Dimm we table this Resolution
for further study, seconded by Councilman Dietz and there were no
objections.
OLD BUSINESS
Mr. Severance of Hill Street expressed satisfaction with the
present condition of the street. He asked if the Council was
aware of the County plans for paving Eaton Road. This paving
program would close the access to Hill Street.
Mr. N. Moosa reported to the Council on a neighborhood altercation
which was investigated by Chief Heath and Officer Quirk.
Mayor Cairnie informed the public that there would be garbage
collection on July 4th, but the cans must be put out early.
There being no further business, motion duly made by Councilman
Dimm we now adjourn, seconded by Councilman Ledbetter and there
were no objections.
