02-24-1969 - Special , I U - , o o u SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA HELD FEBRUARY 24, 1969 The special meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida was called to order by Mayor William H. Cairnie at 2:00 P.M. February 24, 1969. ROLL CALL Mayor William H. Cairnie Councilman Francis H. Norman Councilman David C. Ledbetter Councilman George M. Dimm Councilman Calvin R. Dietz City Attorney Charles A. Hall City Clerk Elsie L. Ward Deputy Clerk Betty E. Martz Present Absent Present Present Present Absent Present Present Mayor Cairnie read the first proposal: TO CHANGE THE TIME FOR THE OPENING OF THE BIDS FOR LIGHTS FOR THE RECREATION AREA FROM FEBRUARY 24, 1969 TO MARCH 3, 1969 at 2:00 P.M. A Motion was Duly made by Councilman Cedbetter and second by Councilman Dietz to extend the date to March 3, 1969 at 2:00 P.M. A motion by roll call vote CARRIED. There is to be another Special Meeting of the City Council in the office of the Mayor March 3, 1969 at 2:00 P.M. in the afternoon to accept the bids or recommendations for the lights for the recreation area and then they are to be discussed at the regular meeting that night. Mayor Cairnie read the second proposal: TO DISCUSS VACATION TIME FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. Councilman Dietz: I think they should be entitled to some consideration becasue after all they do work 6 days a week. Councilman Dimm: I recommend that all the City Employees be listed under the same Resolution as the Police Department. Councilman Dietz: I desagree and I will go for two (2) weeks vacation after 2 years employment. Councilman Dimm: I still think all employees should be entitled to the same benefits. Mayor C~irnie recommends that a resolution be drawnn up for this. A .MotiontwaslOu1y made by Councilman Dimm and Second by Councilman Ledbetter that we accept the Chiefs recommendation and make a resolution to be voted on at the next Council Meeting.
