(J o 1 r U OLD BUSINESS NONE At this time Mayor Cairnie Introduced Mr. Dudley Norman of the Telephone Company who has been assigned to Edgewater. NEW BUSINESS Mr. Bebbington asked the Mayor if anything had been done about the Police Department phone being answered. He then stated that he had tried to call Edgewater Police and was unable to reach anyone so called the New Smyrna Beach Police and was also unable to get in touch with them. He then proceded to call Mayor Cairnie who immediately got in touch with the New Smyrna Beach Police and found out that the Key wasn't on. The Mayor told Mr. Bebbington that the key has since been removed from New Smyrna and placed in the Edgewater Police Department so they will be able to turn the phone over to New Smyrna Police. Mr. Bebbington then suggested that we still call New Smyrna Beach Police to make sure that the phone was working. Chief C. W. Heath said that we would call New Smyrna Beach Police even though it was not necessary. MISCELLANEOUS Mr. Bebbington: IIBack in 1965 we had water Hydrants that we purchased before the term was over and had installed 3 or 4. Since then there still has not been any put in and wanted to know why the people were still paying extra for fire insurance when there were no hydrants put in.1I Mayor Cairnie: IIThat is our project for this year. We have already planed to layout a program to install the fire hydrants. A meeting has been set up with our engineers Briley, Wild & Associates on Friday January 10, 1968 to go over plans for installation. There being no further business motion was duly made by Councilman Dimm, second by Councilman Ledbetter that the meeting be adjourned. The motion by roll call vote was CARRIED.
