10-21-1970 - Regular o. (.) o o THE CITY COUNCIL OF EDGEWATER REGULAR MEETING HELD OCTOBER 21, 1970 A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater was called to order at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 21, 1970 in the Conference Room by Vice Mayor Jacob Lodico. The purpose of this meeting was to canvass the. absentee ballots for the Primary election held October 20, 1970. Heath Absent Present Present Present Present Present Present Absent CERTIFICATION OF BALLOTS The Certification of Absentee Ballots received and the names of the in- dividuals of each was read in full by City Clerk Elsie L. Ward. Absentee ballots were opened by the Vice M~or and Councilmen present, after which the Vice Mayor read each ballot aloud and City Attorney Charles A. Hall recorded same. RESOLUTIONS RESOLUTION NO. 361: A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF A PRIMARY ELECTION AND A SPECIAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA ON OCTOBER 20, 1970 TO ASCERTAIN THE NOMINEES TO BE VOTED UPON FOR . COUNCILMAN FROM ZONE 4 IN THE NOVEMBER 3, 1970 GENERAL ELECTION AND DE- CLARING THE RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION TO DECIDE TtlHETHER TO APPROVE TWO PROPOSED CHARTER CHANGES, THE FIRST TO RAISE THE SALARY OF THE MAYOR AND EACH COUNCILMAN AND THE SECOND TO RAISE THE MINIMUM LIMIT REQUIRED FOR COMPETITIVE BIDS, DECLARING THE NOHINEES TO BE VOTED UPON FOR COUNDILMAN FROM ZOfl.TE 2 IN THE CITY OF EDGEWATER AT THE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD NOVEMBER 3, 1970, and providing an effective date therefor. The above stated Resolution and results of same was read in its entirety by City Attorney Charles A. Hall. Upon completion of the reading of Resolution #361 a motion was duly made by C01mcilman Ledbetter to adopt this Resolution. Motion was seconded by Council- man Dietz.
