Said motion was seconded by Councilman Ledbetter and upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED. ORRICERS REPORTS Certification of Posting Library Report for July The Officers Reports stated above were read by City Clerk, Elsie L. Ward. COMMUNICATIONS NONE ORDINANCES NONE RESOLUTIONS NONE OLD BUSINESS A discussion on the installation of pipe under the culvert on India Palm Drive in Florida Shores disclosed coordinating problems within the water and sewer and street departments. In order to resolve the coordinating problems within the stated departments, Councilman Ledbetter duly moved to dissolve the existing Departmental Coordinator appointments and place all departments under the direction of Mayor Cairnie. Said motion was seconded by Councilman Dietz. -2- o Q u o OLD BUSINESS, CONTT Prior to roll call on the motion, Councilman Dietz stated "This motion does not give the Mayor a "blanket"; if one of the departments encounters problems and contacts one of the Councilmen, who in turn must make a decision, any resulting problem should be ironed out with the Councilman making the decision, not the City employee". Upon roll call vote on the motion, said motion CARRIEO, with Councilman Lodico voting NAY. NEW BUSINESS Bid prices and specifications submitted by the bidders for paving the shuffleboard area were reviewed by City Clerk Elsie L. Ward. After some discussion on the merits of the specifications submitted by the two bidders, L & M Paving Company and M. L. Modlin, Council- man Dietz moved to leave the matter tabled until further advice could be obtained from knowledgeable sources. Councilman Lodico duly moved to perform a study on the continuance of the seawall on the south side of the Park & Pier, including a survey and an engineering study to obtain knowledge of the existing right-of-way by the City and to contact the State and Corps of Engineers afterward for final approval, if necessary. Said motion was seconded by Councilman Dietz and upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED. A motion to draw up specifications for new street signs on Riverside Drive, Indian River Boulevard and U.S. Highway #1 was duly made by Councilman Dietz and seconded by Councilman Lodico, with each bid submitted in individual packages; bids to be available on August 13 and returned by September 7, 1970. Upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED. MISCELLANEOUS Councilman Dietz moved to have Mayor Cairnie contact Florida Power & Light in order to set up a program for redesigning the lighting on Indian River Boulevard. Said motion was seconded by Councilman Ledbetter and upon roll call vote, said motion CARRIED. Mayor Cairnie appointed Councilman Lodico to the task of coordinating the new lighting with Florida Power & Light. There being no further business, Councilman Dietz duly moved for adjournment of the meet~ng, said motion being seconded by Councilman Ledbetter and CARRIED. Time of Adjournment: 10:26 A.M.
