NEW BUSINESS
Councilman Fugate stated that in the process of the Council's
selections of persons to the Edgewater Zoning Board, they had
discovered one proposed member was a City employee. Councilman
Fugate suggested the City Attorney check the legality of such a
selection before any further plans were made.
City Attorney Charres Hall stated he would check the State Statutes
and report his findings on conflict of interest to the Council
at the next workshop meeting.
A report on the condition of the roofs on City buildings was
made by Councilman Fugate. He stated the roof on the Community
Center over the large hall was in good shape and the older portion
where the roof overlaps needs to be patched. However, the City
Hall roof is in IIbad shape; the roof will IImash downll just like
a spongell. Additionally, the flashings need to be sealed on
both buildings.
Councilman Fugate stated that the City Council and Board of
Governors had been discussing remodeling of the stage at the
Community Center. Councilman Fugate ,and local contractor, Mr.
L. E. Harris, had checked the flooring underneath the stage (floor
is concrete), but Mr. Harris wanted to have another man check
the remodeling plans before Mr. Harris gave his opinion to the
Council .
MISCELLANEOUS
Mr. James Budd addressed the Council and advised them that the
property adjacent to his property at 1709 South Ridgewood had
not been cleaned; the makeshift building had been torn down, but
all lumber and debris had been left there.
City Attorney Charles A. Hall stated that the owners of the
property had been notified by letter and that if they had not
complied with the City.s request, legal action should be taken
against them.
There being no further business, Councilman Fugate duly moved
for adjournment of the meeting, said motion being seconded by
Councilman Dietz and CARRIED.
