REPORTS OF OFFICERS.
Clerk read his corrected cash statement for' the period May 1st to 31st, 1950.
Mayor-Councilman Fuller reported on a recreational project being instituded by
New Smyrna Beach for the children of New Smyrna and surrounding towns. A bus
would come to Edgewater and pick the children, take them to the beach, leave them
in the care of competant supervisors and return the children to Edgewater. This
program to cost NewxSmyrna approximately $2000.00 Edgewater to 'pay 10% of this
costs if the town joins in this project with New Smyrna. This caused a general
discussion particularly as to the num ber of children that would be allowed to
go and the liability of the town if it sponsered such a program. Council instruct-
ed Marshal Thomas to contact the parents of children to find how many children
would be allowed to go and the Clerk to call Attorney Hawkin s to to find out
the towns liability in this matter, Council agreed to meet at 3:00 P. M. on
Friday June 30th for further consideration of this matter.
