FLORIDA, HELD IN THE TOWN HALL AUGUST 22, 1951.

The minutes of the regular meeting held August $, 1951 \iere read, Councilman
Friedley moved they be approved as read, seconded by Douncilman Gibbs and by
vote CARRIED.

Councilman Gibbs moved these bills be approved as read, paid and be made
these minutes, seconded by Councilman Friedley and by vote CARRIED.

Clerk reported that the stop signs and the truck prohibition signs were ready for
letering.and the speed limit signs had been received. Councilman Gibbs moved these
signs be sent to Brewer Art Service for lett~ring and the Clerk order l2-Celcure
posts 4in. square by 7' long, for'mounting the speed limit signs, seconded by
Councilman Freidley and by vote CARRIED.
Council instructed Terry Sargent to proceed to letter the signs in the Town
REPORT SPECIAL COW~ITTEE.
H. R. Judy'Cpairman of the committee to ~#. look into ~he water project submitted
a Hritten re}ort to the Council. This report is attached and made part of these
minutes.
COl'fJMUNICATIONS.
Clerk read a letter from Judge Wingfield asking for the use.of the Town Hall on
September 21,1951 for the purpose of issuing drivers licenses to the people of the
Community. Council instructed the Clerk to write to Judge Wingfield that the Hall
would be at his disposal on that day.

RESOLUTIONS.
Aresolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A CLERK AND THREE INSPECTORS OF
EL~CTION FOR THE SPECIAL TOWN ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE TOvm OF EDGEWATER,
FLORIDA, ON TUESDAY, THE 11TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1951.
~t was moved by Councilman Friedley and seconded by Councilman Gibbs that the
above_and foregoing resolution be adopted by the Town Council of the Town of
Edgewater, Florida, and be spread upon and made part of the minutes of this meet-
ing, held the 22 day of August, A. D. 1951. The motion carried, the result of the
vote of the Council being as follows;

UNFINISHED BUSINESS.
Clerk presented the estimate of expenses for the Town of Edgswater, Florida for
the year beginning Cotober i, 1951 to SeptembEr 30, 1952. Councilman Gibbs moved
this estimate bf e~pens~s be adopted and posted according to law, seconded by
Councilman Friedley and by vote CARRIED.
MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS.
Councilman Gibbs moved that 5 new street lights be installed in the Town, also
that the Olerk write to the City of New Smyrna Beach authorizing these lights
and that Mr. Monroe contact the Couhcil as to their location.
C. C. Sheaffer called the attentio~ of the Council to the fact that the donor of
the flagthat hangs on the wall of the Town Hall has received ne recognition of his
generous and patriotic spirit which prompted this gift and suggested something be
don about it. Councilman Gibbs moved that a standing.vote by those present in the
Hall be given R. C. Huettick ~lso that the Clerk write R. C. Huettick expressing
the thanks of The Council and the people of Edgewater, seconded by Councilman
Friedley and by vote CARRIED.
N. S. Bogdon reported .that a number of lots in Mendell's Sub. of Lot 8 are a fire
hazard as well as being a menace to the health and well being of the residents tn
the vicinty of these lots. Council instructed Fire Chief Bane to investigate and
the number of lots in need of being cleaned.
There being no further business Councilman Gibbs moved we do ~ow adjourn, oeconded
by qouncilman Friedley and by vote CARRIED. TIME 9:00 P. M.
