08-08-1951 - Regular 't ~ ~ u ~ REGULAR MEETING OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOvm OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, HELD IN THE TOWN HALL AUGUST 8,- 1951. Meeting called to order at 7:35 P. M. by Mayro-Councilman E. P. Fuller. READING OF MINUTES. The minutes of the regular meeting held July 25, 1951 were read. Councilman Friedley moved they be approved as read, seconded by Councilman Gibbs and by vote CARRIED. BILLS AND ACCOUNTS. The followi~g bills were read: Howard fiayton Hotel Suppliers William Allen R. A. Gray Belva Sargent Vo~usia Tractor & Implement Co. Frank J. McMurray Southern Bell Tel & Tel Co Dwight's Jess Mathas Councilman Gibbs moved these bills be approved as read,'paid and be made these minutes, seconded by Councilman Friedley and by vote CARRIED. REPORTS OF OFFICERS. $62.00 4 00' . . 22.00 49.50 20.12 20.70 26.89 13.66 4.40 part of 1 The Deputy Clerk read the the Cash statement and the B~dget report for the period July 1st to 31st, 1951.. . Mayor Ful+er reported a bid for 75 stop signs at a cost of $52,00 and 3-3X4' signs at $29.00 also that speed limit signs could be bought for $3.00 a piece. Councilman Gibbs moved that the bids be accepted and that the Clerk order these signs also 12 speed limit signs, seconded by Councilman Friedley and by vote CARRIED. ORDIN~NCES. AN ORDINANCE NO. 187 entitled; AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A SPEED LIMIT ON RIV~RSIJE DRIVE IN THE TOvffl OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA AND FURTHER PROVIDING FOR A PROHIBITION AS TO THE OPERATION OF TRUCKS ON SAID RIVBRSIDE DRIVE WITH A GROSS CAPACITY OF NOT MORE THAN ONE TON AND PROVIDING FURTJIUR FOR PENALITIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE. The abov ordinance lVUS read in full and passed by the unanimous vote of the Town Council of the Town of Edgewater, Florida at the reeular meeting on the 8th day of August, A. D. , 1951 Upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the requirement of read- ing said ordinance upon second reading was waived and the ordinance was ordered put upon its final passage. Passed by the unanimous vote of the Town Council of the Town of Edgewater, Florida at a regular meeting of said Council held this 8th day of August A. D. 1951, and approved as provided by law, the vote of said Council on roll call being as follows: Mayor-Councilman Councilman Councilman Fuller Friedley Gibbs Yes Yes Yes rt v u v J Mrs. Halliday asked the Council as to the possibility 0: getting water in the Town. After some discussion of this subject Mayor-Councilman Fuller appointed a committee consisting of R. HansDn, H.R. Judy amd Mrs. Halliday to get the opinion of the citizens in regards to water in the Town. There be ing no futher business Councilman Friedley moved we do now adjourn, seconded by Councilman Gibbs and by vote CARRIED. TIME 9:15 P. M.
