Order Special Election - 1951 - 07-25-1951 - \....; ...." ...., '-.,i RESOLUTION ---------- RESOLUTION ORDERING A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, IN THE YEAR 1951, PRESCRm ING THE TIME AND THE PLACE FOR HOLDING SUCH ELECTION; PRESCRIBING THE RULES BY WHICH SUCH ELECTION SHALL BE COVERED, AND PRESCRIBING THE TIME AND THE POLLS SHALL BE OPENED AND CLOSED, AND PROVIDING FOR NOTICES OF SUCH ELECTION. WHEREAS, the Town Counoil of the Town of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, has reoeived a Petition signed by more than seventy-five (75) oitizens living within the Town of Edgewater, Vol usia County, Florida, oalling for a Speoial Eleotion to vote upon the Adoption of a Speoia~ Charter for the City of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, and in pursuance of providing of said Special Charter an.~ Act of the Legislature of the State of Florida, heretofore passed; and WHEREAS, It is proper for the aforesaid Counoil to order a Special Election to be held in the aforesaid Town for the purpose of voting upon the Adoption of a Speoial Charter as passed by the Legislature of the State of Florida: now therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF EDGEW.ATER, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That a Speoial Election be and the same is hereby ordered to be held in the Town of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, at the Town Hall (otherwise known as the Community V.I.A. Hall) on Tuesday the 11th day of September, A.D. 1951, for the purpose of voting upon the Adoption of a Special Charter in accordance with the Special Act of the Legislature of the state of Florida, heretofore passed. That at the said Election the same Laws and Rules that apply to the General Eleotions under the Laws of the State of Florida, and the Ordinances of the Town of Edgewater, Florida, shall be observed. SECT ION 3. That the Polls at the above named voting place shall be open at 7:00 o'olock A.M. Eastern Standard Time (that being the time in use in said Town at the date of said eleotion) on said day of said eleotion and shall close at 7:00 o'olook P.M. of said day. SECTION 4. That the Town Clerk of said Town be and he is here- by direoted to give Notioe of the said eleotion hereby ordered by posting the Notioe, form of whioh is hereinafter set forth, at least thirty (30) days prior to the date upon which the said election hereby ordered is set in three (3) different, conspio- uous and publ io plaoes in said Town, on e of which shall be at the front door of the V. I. A. Town Hall in said Town. SECTION 5. That the Notice of such election to be posted as herein provided shall be in substantially the following form, to-wit: NOTICE OF SPECIAL TOWN ELECTION NOTICE is hereby given that the Town Counoil of the Town of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, under and by virtue of the authority vested in it by the Laws of the State of Florida, and the Ordinances of said Town, has ordered a Speoial Eleotion to be held on Tuesday, the 11th day of September, A.D. 1951, at the Town Hall (otherwise known as the Community of V.I.A. Hall) for the purpose of voting on the Adoption of a Special Charter for the City of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, in acoordance with a Special Aot of the Legislature heretofore passed. The Polls for said Elec- tion shall be open at the hours of Seven (7:00) o'olock A.M.! Eastern Standard Time, and shall olose at Seven (7:00) o'olock. P.M. on the day of said Eleotion. said Election shall be in substantial oonformity with the Laws and Rules applicable to General Elections held under the Laws of the state of Florida, and subjeot to the Ord- inanoes of the Town of Edgewater, Florida.
