EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, HELD IN THE TOWN HALL JULY 11, 1951
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P. M. by Mayor-Councilman Fuller.

The minutes of the regular meeting held June 27, 1951 and the Special
Meeting held June 30, 1951 were both read. A motion was made by
Councilman Friedley that the minutes be accepted, seconded by Mayor-
Councilman Fuller and by vote CARRIED.

Councilman Friedley moved these bmils be approved as read, paid and
made a part of these minutes, seconded by Mayor-Councilman Fuller and
by vote CARRIED.

REPORTS OF OFFICERS

The Clerk reported trot the deed for Lot 30 in Edgewater Highlands
was ready for delivery to De Forrest Williams, purchaser of the lot
from the Town. A motion was made by Councilman Friedley that the deed
to this lot be delivered to Mr. Williams upon receipt of $155.00, the
full purchase price. This motion was seconded by Mayor-Councilman
Fuller and by vote CARRIED.

The Deputy Clerk read the Cash Statement and the Budget Report for
the period of June 1 to June 30, 1951.
COMMUNICATIONS
Attorney Hawkins read a letter from the Board of County Commissioners
stating that July 25, 1951 had been set as the date for Equalization
of the 1951 Tax Roll, and asking that our Council be pr~sent ~t the
meeting.
MISCELLANBOUS.
A petition was presented by Mrs. Myrtle Cox for the purpose .of calling
an election for a referendum of action for the adoption of the Charter
as passed by the State Legislature endilg Ju~e 1, 1951. A motion was
made by Councilman Friedley that the petition be referred to the Clerk
to verify the names on the petition, and to notify Attorney Hawkins
after the verification had been made, at which time Attorney Hawkins
will prepare the necessary forms for the election.
Attorney Hawkins reported that he had talked with the Secretary of
State in Tallahassee, and had been promised a certified ~py of the
Charter by the first of this coming week. He also reported that he
will be available on Election Day, if necessary.
RESOLUTIONS
A RESOLUTION ENTITLED: A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A CLERK AND THREE
INSPECTORS OF ELECTION FOR THE SPECIAL TO\m ELECTION TO BE HELD IN
THE TOWN OF EDGEWATEH, FLORIDA, ON TUESDAY, JULY 17, 1951.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Mrs. Vera J. McLane, Mrs. Olive Parker and Mrs. Ethel
Lear, each of whom are duly qualified electors of the Town of Edgewater,
Volusia County, Florida, be and they are hereby severally appointed
to act as Inspectors of the above mentioned Special Election .to be
held in said TO\ffi on the 17th day of July, 1951.
SECTION 2. That Mrs. Florence B. Swiney, a duly qualified ~lector
of the Town of Edgewater"Volusia County, Florida, is hereby appointed
to act as Clerk of the above mentioned Election, to be held as above
stated.
It was moved by Councilman Friedley and seconded by Mayor-Councilman
Fuller that the above and foregoing resolution be adopted by the Town
Council of the Town of Edgewater, Florida and be spread upon and made
a part of the minutes of this meeting, held the 11th day of July, A. D.
1951. The motion carried, the result of the Counci 1 being as follows:

Councilman Friedley moved that we do now adjourn, seconded by Mayor-
Councilman Fuller and by vote CARRIED.
