Minutes of the regular adjourned meeting held March 19, 1951 and the organization meeting held Narch 21, 1951 were read. D. 1951 for the passage of a local or special law to be entitled; AN AOT TO ABOLISH THE PRESENT MUNICIPAL GOVERNMEMT OF THE TO\m OF EDGEWATER, IN VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA, AND TO CREATE, ESTABLISH AND ORGANIXE A MUNICIPALITY TO BE KNOWN AND DESIGNATED AS THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, AND TO DEFINE ITS TERRETORIAL BOUNDRIES, AND PROVIDE FOR ITS GOVERNMENT, JURISDICTION, POWERS FRANCHISES AND PRIVELEGES. Councilman Friedley moved that this notice be published as required by law in the Daytona Beach News-Journal, seconded by Mayor-Councilman Fuller and by vote CARRIED. I J It G \ v u v Attorney reported that he had a letter from Attorney Gillespie in regard to the violation of the building ordinance by Mrs. Kathryn Peyton asking for a review of the building permit and requesting a hearing before the Board of Adjustment. Council instructed Clerk to check all ordinances pertaining to buliding permits before any further action is taken. COMMUNICATIONS. A letter form Marshal D. A. Thomas to the Town Council was read subitting his res resignation as Town Marshal. Councilman Friedley moved that this resignation be accepted, seconded by Mayor-Councilman Fuller and by vote CARRIED. This letter is attached abd made part of these minutes. Council instructed Clerk tc write a letter to D.A. Thomas expressing thier thanks and appreciation for hie service to the town. The letter of H. O. Kuhlhoff submitting his resignation from the Town Council was again read. Councilman Friedley moved the ratification of the Council's action at the regular meeting held March 21, 1951, seconded by Mayor-Councilman Fuller and by vote CARRIED..This letter is attached and made part of these minutes. A Resolution entitiled: A RESOLUTION ORDERING A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, IN THE YEAR 1951, PRESCRIBING THE TIME AND THE PLACE Fa FOR HOLDING SUCH ELECTION; PRESCRIBING THE RULES BY WHICH SUCH ELECTION SHALL BE COVERED, AND PRESCRIBING THE TIME THAT THE POLLS SHALL BE OPENED AND CLOSED, AND PROVIDING FOR NOTICES OF SUCH ELECTION. It was moved by Councilman Friedley and sceonded by Mayor-Councilman Fuller that the abovexand foregoing Resolmtion be adopted by the Town Council of the Town of Edgewater, Florida, and be spread upon and made a part of the minutes of this Meeting, held the 28th day of March, A. D. 1951. The motion carried, the result of the vote of the Council on Roll call being asx~ollows; Mayor-Councilman Fuller Yes Councilman Friedley Yes. There being no further business Councilman Friedley moved that we do now adjourn seconded by Mayor-Councilman Fuller and by vote CARRIED. TIME 9:00 P. M.
