The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida was called to order by Mayor Friedley at 7:30 P.M. ROLL CALL Mayor-Councilman R. T. Friedley Councilman E. P. Motion by Councilman Haughton these minutes be approved as read, seconded by Councilman Shaeffer and by vote OARRIED. BILLS & ACCOUNTS Edgewater Truck Stop Dwight's J. O. Birch Volusia Tractor & Implement J. T. Jones Robertson Electric Florida Power & Light Co. $43.7$ 3.72 2$.50 56.$2 23.00 6.70 6.27 Councilman Gibbs moved these bills be approved as read, paid and be made part of the minutes of the meeting, seconded by Councilman Haughton and by vote CARRIED. OFFICERS REPORT The Clerk read the Budget Report and the Cash Statement for the Month of June 1952. COMMUNICATIONS The Clerk read a letter from Rene Carette regarding the hedge on Mrs. Fuller's property stating that his place of business was ob- structed from view of South bound traffic and ask that the Council take some action to relieve this situation. -;j?P ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF FLORIDA STATUTES 1951, SECTION 322.01 to 322.42 INCLUSIVE AS THEY MAY PERTAIN TO THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA, AND PROVIDING THE PENALTIES THEREOF. Adoption of the State Law. The above ordinance was read in full and passed by the vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at a regular meeting on the 9th day of July A.D. 1952. Upon motion duly made by Councilman Gibbs and seconded by Councilman Haughton and unanimously carried, the requirement of reading said ordinance upon second reading was waived, and the ordinance was ordered put upon final passage. It , ~ u u I~ NEW BUSINESS Motion by Councilman Shaeffer the matter pertaining to the Poli.ce Car Radio be tabled until Mr. McMillian could be contacted, seconded by Councilman Haughton. Motion by Councilman Haughton we pay $100.00 to New Smyrna Beach to be used to defray the expenses of the Childrens Recreational Program, seconded by Councilman Gibbs, and by vote CARRIED. All children between the ages of 3 thru 12 will be picked up at the Traffic Light at 8:20 A.M. Monday thru Friday and transported to and from the beach at New Smyrna. Motion by Councilman Haughton that all City Em~loyees on Salary be given a ten (10) day vacation with pay after one year of service. Seconded by Councilman Shaeffer and by vote CARRIED.
