REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA,
HELD JUNE 11th, 1952.

The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida was called to order by Mayor Friedley at 7:30 P.M.

The minutes of the Regular Meeting held May 2$th, a specialmeeting
held May 29th, a special meeting held June 4th, a special meeting
held June 6th and a special meeting held June 9th were read. Council-
man Fuller moved these minutes be approved as read, seconded by
Councilman Gibbs and by vote CARRIED.

Councilman Fuller moved these bills be approved as read, paid and
be made a part of the minutes of the meeting, seconded by Council-
man Shaeffer and by vote CARRIED.
REPORT OF OFFICERS
The Clerk read the Budget Report and the Cash Report for the Month
of May.
ORDINANCES
AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING AND DESIGNATING A BOARD OF EXAMINERS OF
ELECTRICIANS AND ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS FOR THE CITY OF EDGEWATER
VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA.

That Robert E. Fuller, Willard Stubbs and Thomas E. McClelland be,
and they are hereby designated and appointed the Board of Examiners
for Electricians and Electrical Contractors for the City of Edgewater,
Volusia County, Florida, with full power and authority to do and
perform all the duties of said office as fixed and defined by the
Charter and Ordinances' of said City and the Laws of the State of
Florida, to serve as such for a period of two (2) years; that the said
Robert E. Fuller, Willard Stubbs and Thomas McClelland shall receive
no compensation for their services, and that they may be removed by
the City Council for cause, said appointment being effective as of
the 11th day of June, A.D. 1952.
The above ordinance was read in full and passed by vote of the City
Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at a regular meeting on
the 11th day of June A.D. 1952.

Upon motion duly made by Councilman Fuller, seconded by Councilman
Haughton and carried the requirement of reading said ordinance upon
second reading was waived, and the ordinance was ordered put upon
final passage.
Passed by the vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida, at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 11th day
of June A.D. 1952, and approved as provided by Law, the vote of said
Council on roll call being as follows:-

~ AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING AND APPOINTING A BUILDING INSPECTOR FOR
~ ~ THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA.
That Carl Cory be, and he is hereby designated and appointed Building
Inspector for the City of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, with
full power and authority to do and perform all the duties of said
office as fixed and defined by the Charter and Ordinances of said
City and the Laws of the State of Florida; to serve as such at the
will of the City Council of the City'of Edgewater; that the said
Carl Cory shall receive as compensation for his services the amounts
as set forth in previous enacted ordinances of the City of Edgewater,
Volusia County, Florida, said appointment being effective as of the
11th day of June, A.D. 1952.
The above ordinance was read in full and passed by the vote of the
City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at a regular meeting
on the 11th day of June A.D. 1952.
Upon motion duly made by Councilman Gibbs, seconded by Councilman
Fuller and carried, the requirement of reading said ordinance upon
second reading was waived, and the ordinance was ordered put upon
final passage.

AN ORDINANCE SETTING FORTH THE RULES AND REGULATIONS REGARDING THE
INSTALLATION, REPAIR AND ALTERATIONS OF ALL PLUMBING WORK AND PLUMB~
ING EQUIPMENT PROVIDING FOR INSPECTION AND 'FOR THE PENALTIES FOR THE
VIOLATIONS THEREOF.
Definition: The term "Plumbing" used in this code shall be held to
include and govern all work and materials used in introducing, main-
taining, and extending a supply of water through a pipe or pipes or
any appurtenance thereof, into any building, lot or premises; in
connecting or repairing any system of drainage whereby foul, waste
or surplus water or other waste matter is discharged through a pipe
or pipes from a building, lot or premises into any public or private
sewer or drain on any public or private property; in excavating in
any public or private property for the purpose of connecting or
repairing the service pipes of any building, lot or premises; and
generally in performing all classes of work usually done by plumbers.

City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at a regular meeting
on the 11th day of June, A.D. 1952.

That Wallace J. Race, Absolom Kennedy and Clifford Bradley be, and
they are hereby designated and appointed the Board of Examiners for
Plumbers and Plumbing Contractors for the City of Edgewater, Volusia
County, Florida, with full power and authority to do and perform all
of the duties of said office as fixed and defined by the Charter and
Ordinances of said City and the Laws of the State of Florida; to serve
as such for a period of two (2) years; that the said Wallace J. Race,
Absolom Kennedy and Clifford Bradley shall receive no compensation for
their services, and that they may be removed by the City Council for
cause, said appointment being effective as of the 11th day of June A.D.
1952.

OLD BUSINESS
Unamimous vote by Zoning-Commission to turn down
Petition for Re-Zoning Riveredge Acres, Councilman Shaeffer stated
he could see no reason to turn down the decision of the Zoning
Commission, and therefore made a motion to uphold the decision of
the Zoning Commission, seconded by Councilman Fuller and by vote
CARRIED. Roll call vote being as follows:-

There being no further business Councilman Shaeffer moved we do
now adjourn, seconded by Councilman Gibbs and by vote CARRIED.
