12-26-1951 - Regular .. v u u REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA, HELD DECEMBER 26, 1951. .. ~ The meeting was called to order at 8:40 P.M. by Mayor-Councilman Friedley. Wood Present Present Present Present Present Present Present Present Present Tha minutes of the regular meeting of the Council held December 12, 1951 an of the special meeting held December 19, 1951 were read. Councilman Gibbs moved that the minutes be approved as read, seconded by Councilman Fuller and by vote CARRIED. BILLS AND ACCOUNTS / The following bills were read: Edgewater Truck Stop Southern Bell Telephone & Telegraph Kiep Brot hers City of New Smyrna Beach Edgewater Motors Belva Sargent H. R. Judy Alvin H. Shippee $14.76 21.37 8.00 99.16 44.40 1.20 3.00 16.00 Councilman Fuller moved these bills be approved as read, paid and be made part o~ the minutes of this meeting, seconded by Councilman Gibbs and by vote CARRIED. REPORTS OF OFFICERS The Clerk reported she had contacted the FEC Railroad as the Council had requested, concerning the drainage ditch on the west side of the railroad. She was informed that the engineers of the railroad had been tnsuructed to check on the ditch, and that the Council would be informed as soon as any action had been decided upon by the railroad. \ REPORTS OF CO~rnITTEES Councilman Gibbs reported that the Christmas party held December 22 at the Hawks Park Club had been an outstanding success, and thanked everyone who had participated. ORDINANCES ORDINANCE NUMBER SEVEN ENTITLED: AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING A LIBRARIAN FOR THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA. 11 The above ordinance was read in full and passed by the unanimous vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at a regular meeting on the 26th day of December, 1951. Upon motion duly made by Councilman Haughton, secor.ded by Councilman Fuller and unanimously carried, the requirements of reading said ordinance upon second reading was waived and the ordinance was ordered put upon final passage. n v ~ \J J Passed by the unanimous vote of the City Council of the City of Edge- water, Florida at a regular me eting of said Council held on the 26th day of December A.D., 1951, and approved as provided by Law, the vote of said Council on roll call being as follows: Mayor-Councilman Friedley Yes Councilman Fuller Yes Councilman Gibbs Yes Councilman Haughton Yes Councilman Shaeffer Yes f~ ORDINANCE NUMBER EIGHT ENTITLED: AN ORDINANCE DESCRIBING RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE FILING AND DISPOSITION OF APPLICATIONS FOR BUILDING PEm~IT, AND FOR RE-CLASSIFICATION AND RE-ZONING OF PROPERTY LOCATED \~THIN THE CITY LIMITS OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA; DIVIDING TERRITORY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER INTO USE DISTRICTS; DEFINING CERTAIN TERMS, WORDS AND PHRASES AS USED IN THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. The above ordinance was read and passed by a majority vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at a regular meeting on the 26th day of December, 1951. Upon motion duly made by Councilman Shaeffer, seconded by Councilman Haughton and unanimously carried, the requirements of reading said ordinance upon second reading was waived and the ordinance was ordered put upon final passage.
